This weekend, the Ottobiano track in Italy will witness the race debut of the Ducati Desmo250 MX, marking the next step in the Borgo Panigale manufacturer’s ambitious plan to develop a complete range of off-road motorcycles. The Desmo250 MX, designed for the MX2 class, follows the successful introduction of the Desmo450 MX, which made its mark in the MX1 2024 Italian Prestige Championship.

The Desmo250 MX represents Ducati’s commitment to creating high-performance off-road bikes that are rigorously tested on the most demanding race tracks before being made available to enthusiasts in production versions. This approach mirrors the development path of the Desmo450 MX, which debuted last year and went on to win the Italian Motocross 2024 title with Alessandro Lupino.

The Beddini Racing team, winners of the MX2 2024 Italian title, will oversee the Desmo250 MX’s race campaign. Nine-time Italian champion Alessandro Lupino will pilot the bike in all six rounds of the Italian Motocross Prestige MX2 Championship, bringing his expertise and experience to the development process.

Lupino’s involvement is expected to provide valuable feedback to Ducati’s engineers, ensuring the Desmo250 MX is refined for both competitive racing and future production.

Meanwhile, the Desmo450 MX, which debuted last year, is making waves in the MXGP World Championship. Ridden by Mattia Guadagnini and Jeremy Seewer under the Aruba.it – Ducati Factory MX Team managed by Maddii Racing, the bike has already proven its competitiveness on the global stage.

The production version of the Desmo450 MX will be officially unveiled on April 3 during an episode of the Ducati World Première. Deliveries are set to begin in June across Europe, followed by the USA in July and the rest of the world thereafter.

Ducati’s structured development plan for off-road motorcycles demonstrates the brand’s dedication to expanding its presence in the motocross world. By leveraging competitive racing to refine its bikes, Ducati ensures that its production models meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

The debut of the Desmo250 MX is a significant milestone in this journey, as Ducati continues to build on the success of the Desmo450 MX. With Lupino at the helm and the Beddini Racing team’s expertise, the Desmo250 MX is poised to make a strong impression in the Italian Motocross Prestige MX2 Championship.
