The Ducati Lenovo Team is all set to hit the track again, resuming the MotoGP season after a refreshing summer break. Following their participation in World Ducati Week, Francesco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini are gearing up to race their Desmosedici GPs at the historic Silverstone circuit for the tenth round of 2024.
The Monster Energy British GP, happening from August 2-4, promises to be extra special this year. To celebrate the Championship’s 75th anniversary, all bikes and riders will don vintage liveries, which will be revealed in a live broadcast on Thursday on the official MotoGP YouTube channel.
Reigning World Champion Francesco Bagnaia, who is currently leading the standings after winning the last four Grands Prix, arrives in England with a strong desire to maintain his winning streak. His teammate, Enea Bastianini, who is fourth in the Championship and just 11 points behind third place, is also eager to fight for top positions in the second half of the season.
Francesco Bagnaia (#1, Ducati Lenovo Team) – 1st (222 points)
“Our vacation ended earlier than the other riders. Last week, we were in Misano for World Ducati Week, and we got to challenge ourselves with the new Panigale V4 S. It was a great chance to reconnect with the track and meet fans from all over the world. After the Lenovo Race of Champions, it’s back to serious business! I rested during the break and now I’m ready for the intense and challenging second half of the season. I can’t wait to pick up where we left off on Friday.”
Enea Bastianini (#23, Ducati Lenovo Team) – 4th (155 points)
“These three weeks of break were much needed, but now I’m eager to get back on track and start the second part of the season. In the first nine races, we’ve managed to grow steadily. The upcoming weeks will be intense, but we’ll also race on tracks where I usually perform well. For now, our focus is on Silverstone. We’ll give it our all as always, and I’m excited to race with the special fairing for the Championship’s 75th Anniversary.”
The Ducati Lenovo Team riders will begin the weekend’s action on Friday, August 2, with the first free practice session of the Monster Energy British GP. Stay tuned for what promises to be an exciting and historic race weekend!
