Indonesian electric motorcycle brand Imoto has recently introduced its new electric motorcycle, the Vision.ev, made locally with a domestic component content level of 75 percent.
The Vision.ev was developed using local resources from the design process to assembly, which was carried out in Cikarang, West Java.
Antony Lesmana, Co-founder of Imoto Indonesia, expressed pride in the new model, stating, “We are very proud of the launch of the Vision.ev concept. We hope that the presence of Vision.ev will later encourage the adoption of electric vehicles in Indonesia and strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global market.”
“With the tagline ‘Made in Indonesia, for the World,’ Vision.ev reflects Imoto’s commitment to promoting the nation’s innovations to the international market,” he added.
Lesmana also highlighted that Vision.ev is unique because it was completely designed and developed in Indonesia by young Indonesians in just 2.5 years.
Key Features of Vision.ev
- Fast Charging Technology: Allows the battery to be fully charged in 30 minutes from 20% to 80%.
- Battery Capacity: 5.7 kWh, enabling the motorbike to travel up to 160 km on a single charge.
- Maximum Speed: Can reach up to 105 km/h.
- Advanced Digital Features: Includes a touchscreen, infotainment system, keyless entry, and applications for tracking, geofencing, and fleet management.
- Design: Futuristic and ergonomic, tailored for the comfort and tastes of the Indonesian market.
Fast-Charging Ecosystem
To ensure ease of use, Imoto is also developing an extensive, fast-charging ecosystem. Public fast-charging stations will be installed at strategic points in cities and between cities, with 200 charging points planned in the first phase of the rollout.
Commitment to Sustainability and Local Development
Lesmana further stated, “We believe that Imoto will become a Zero Carbon company by 2035 by continuing to develop fast-charging battery technology and environmentally-friendly products. Our commitment is to deliver clean, green, economical, and efficient mobility solutions for the people of Indonesia.”
In addition to environmental goals, Imoto is committed to using local materials to support the domestic industry, create new jobs, and nurture local talent, all while developing global products in the EV sector.
