Blueshark Malaysia and iMotorbike have announced a strategic collaboration to introduce the ReCycle Trade-in Programme, aimed at making the transition to electric motorcycles easier and more rewarding for Malaysian riders.

Set to roll out from April 2026, the programme allows customers to trade in their existing petrol-powered or older electric motorcycles for new Blueshark and SoloEra electric models. Backed by iMotorbike’s nationwide network, the initiative is designed to deliver a smooth, transparent and efficient ownership transition.

Under the programme, customers can begin their journey either at Blueshark showrooms or iMotorbike inspection centres. The process starts with an initial valuation, followed by a detailed inspection and final offer confirmation.

Once agreed, the trade-in value is directly offset against the purchase of a new electric motorcycle, simplifying the entire process from start to finish. This approach eliminates the need for riders to independently sell their motorcycles, reducing both time and uncertainty.

Exclusive Perks for Trade-In Customers

Customers who successfully trade in their old motorcycle and purchase a new Blueshark or SoloEra model will enjoy several limited-time benefits, including:

  • Setel e-vouchers worth RM200 (Solo 1C), RM300 (Solo 2) and RM400 (Blueshark R1)
  • Seasonal promotions and complimentary gifts from Blueshark
  • No booking fee for new motorcycle purchases
  • Fast, transparent valuation powered by iMotorbike
  • Hassle-free documentation and processing

Blueshark Malaysia CEO Jeff Chong described the initiative as a practical step towards wider EV adoption: “The ReCycle Trade-in Programme represents a practical and impactful step toward making electric motorcycles more accessible to everyday Malaysians. By partnering with iMotorbike, we are removing uncertainty and providing a clear, hassle-free pathway to smarter, cleaner mobility.”

Meanwhile, iMotorbike Malaysia VP of Commercial Andy Teh emphasised the company’s role in simplifying the ownership journey: “Through this collaboration, we are making the transition to electric completely frictionless. By leveraging our strengths in transparent valuation and resale, customers can make a sustainable and financially sound decision.”

The programme also aligns with broader sustainability goals by encouraging the replacement of older, higher-emission motorcycles with cleaner electric alternatives. It is expected to benefit both individual riders and fleet operators seeking cost-efficient and low-maintenance solutions.

With the launch of the ReCycle Trade-in Programme, Blueshark and iMotorbike are positioning themselves at the forefront of Malaysia’s growing EV ecosystem, offering riders a practical and rewarding way to make the switch to electric motorcycles.
