Several major roads in Bukit Bintang will be closed in stages starting next week in conjunction with the World Labour Day Celebration and Rain Rave Water Music Festival 2026.

The three-day event, taking place from April 30 to May 2, is part of the Visit Malaysia 2026 initiative and is expected to attract large crowds to the city’s Golden Triangle area.

To facilitate event preparations and ensure public safety, traffic management measures will be implemented in stages beginning April 22.

Partial Night Closures (April 22–28)

Jalan Bukit Bintang will experience partial lane closures during nighttime hours:

  • Weekdays: 11:00 PM – 5:00 AM
  • Weekends: 12:00 AM – 7:00 AM

Full Road Closure (April 29–May 2)

The same road will be fully closed throughout the day from April 29 until May 2.

Alternative Routes and Travel Advice

Motorists will be diverted to nearby roads including:

  • Jalan Sultan Ismail
  • Jalan Raja Chulan
  • Jalan Imbi

Authorities are advising the public to utilise public transportation, with MRT, LRT and Monorail services expected to operate at increased capacity throughout the festival period.

Plan Ahead

Visitors and commuters are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra travel time, as heavy congestion is anticipated during the event.

The road closures are part of broader efforts to ensure smooth event operations and safety as Kuala Lumpur hosts one of its major celebrations of the year.
