Yamaha MT10 SP (2019)

2019 Yamaha MT-10 SP

iMotorbike Price: RM 79, 900

Start with the 2019 Yamaha MT-10 SP, a high-performance streetfighter motorcycle that combines the powerful YZF-R1 engine with street-friendly ergonomics and chassis adjustments. It features a futuristic design and targets experienced riders seeking top-notch on-road performance.

The MT-10 SP stands out with its unique crossplane-crankshaft engine and Gen-2 Ohlins’ semi-active suspension system, replacing the stock bike’s KYB suspension, which allows real-time adjustments for compression and rebound.

Additional features include a colour TFT display, new switchgear, and R1M-inspired colours. Compared to the R1, the MT-10 SP offers a more accessible and comfortable riding experience, making it suitable for commuting, touring, and spirited weekend rides.

BMW S1000R (2017)

BMW’s 2017 S1000R super naked bike has become a standout with reduced weight and increased power. The bike now boasts 165 horsepower, a 5hp increase, and weighs 205kg, 3kg less due to a lighter frame.

These enhancements improve the S1000R’s performance, featuring a bidirectional quick-shifter, cornering ABS, lighter forged wheels, and a new Akrapovic exhaust as standard. This combination of high-tech features and raw power offers an exhilarating ride, particularly on winding backroads, where its agility shines.

Despite its aggressive performance, the S1000R is more than just a stripped-down streetfighter. Various riding modes allow it to comfortably navigate city streets while maintaining near-superbike performance.

Visually, the S1000R remains mostly unchanged, with slight reductions in the plastic around the radiator revealing more of the engine. It retains its compact, sharp look, and aggressive front end, giving it a fierce appearance. The deep growl from the Akrapovic stock exhaust and the powerful inline-four engine add to its allure, making it a formidable and stylish motorcycle.

Ducati Streetfighter V2 (2022)

The Ducati Streetfighter V2 is a stripped-down version of the Panigale V2, keeping its core strengths and excluding only the fairing. This model follows in the footsteps of its high-tech V4 sibling but offers a more practical and everyday-friendly performance. Unlike the V4, which excels on the track, the Streetfighter V2 is designed as a super middleweight naked sportbike suitable for daily use.

The 2022 Streetfighter V2 offers an excellent balance of power and performance with its 955cc Superquadro V-twin engine and well-designed chassis. It features an upright riding position, a single-piece handlebar, and relaxed footpeg positioning, making it ideal for comfortable daily rides.

While it lacks semi-active suspension and Öhlins components, and its 4.3-inch colour TFT dash is smaller without Bluetooth connectivity, the Streetfighter V2 offers a host of premium features. These include Brembo brakes, traction control, cornering ABS with slide control, an up/down quick-shifter, anti-wheelie, engine braking control, and three riding modes (Sport, Road, and Wet) tailored for road use.

Specs

Engine: Superquadro liquid-cooled, 90-degree V-twin, 4-valve

Displacement: 955 cc

Fuel Tank Capacity: 17 Litre

Seat height: 845 mm

Kawasaki Z900 (2017)

The Kawasaki “Z” series has been significant since 1973, marking the debut of Kawasaki’s street-going sports bikes. Renowned for their performance, Kawasaki motorcycles, particularly the Z-series, have remained popular among local riders due to their excellent cost-to-performance ratio.

Launched in Malaysia in 2017, the Z900 replaced the Z800 and Z1000, proving to be a worthy successor. The Z900 offers strong, flexible engine performance, a capable chassis, and a rider-friendly nature.

In Malaysia, the “Z” series is the preferred choice in the naked bike category, especially favoured by the middle-aged to older age group. Its top-notch performance, low maintenance costs, and stress-free servicing make it a popular option for many riders. Additionally, the Sugomi-inspired design provides an elegant look that complements its riding characteristics, combining comfort with speed.

Although the 2017 Z900 lacks some electronic rider aids, likely to distinguish it from the Z1000 and keep the price down, it is well-equipped in other areas. The bike features mandatory ABS, decent instrumentation, adjustable suspension, span-adjustable levers, and neat detailing.

Specs

Engine: Liquid-cooled transverse four, Inline 4, DOHC, 4-cylinder

Displacement: 948 cc

Fuel Tank Capacity: 17 Litre

Seat height: 790 mm

Bike weight: 210 kg

Front suspension: 41mm inverted forks (Adjustable)

Rear suspension: Single shock (Adjustable)

Suzuki GSX-S750 (2022)

The 2022 GSX-S750 is Suzuki’s middleweight naked bike, featuring a GSX-R750-derived engine and an ergonomic chassis. It boasts a strong, torque-rich engine with rider-adjustable traction control, offering a nimble, comfortable, and exhilarating ride while upholding Suzuki’s legacy of quality and reliability.

Equipped with dual disc front brakes and a disc rear brake, the GSX-S750 prioritizes functional performance over extensive electronics. It lacks ride modes and an up/down quick-shifter but includes Suzuki’s easy start system and low RPM assist. Its LCD dash provides essential stats but looks a little bit old-school

This bike excels around town and is well-suited for weekend rides, thanks to its returned GSX-R750 engine and stable chassis.

Specs

Engine: Liquid-cooled, Inline 4, DOHC, 4-valve

Displacement: 749 cc

Fuel Tank Capacity: 16 Litre

Seat height: 820 mm

Bike weight: 211 kg

Front suspension: 41mm KYB inverted telescopic fork (Adjustable)

Rear suspension: KYB shock (Adjustable)

Power & Performance

Power: 123 Hp

Torque: 73.6 Nm

Top speed: 228 Km/h
