Italian scooter manufacturer Lambretta has officially introduced the all-new Lambretta J200 to the Malaysian market during Art of Speed 2026 (AOS 2026) at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).

The unveiling marks the Malaysian debut of this modern classic, which revives the legacy of Lambretta’s 1960s J-series with updated technology for today’s riders, though local pricing remains unconfirmed.

Lambretta is officially distributed in Malaysia by Bike Continent Sdn. Bhd., with Mofaz Motosikal Sdn. Bhd. handling the importation of the scooter.

The launch ceremony was led by Bike Continent Managing Director Ronnie Chen, alongside representatives from Mofaz Motosikal. Pierre Sainton, Director of Lambretta APAC, also attended the event to officially present the new model.

Inspired by the classic Lambretta J50, J100 and J125 Starstream, the J200 retains much of the original design language while receiving significant upgrades in performance, comfort and technology.

The scooter continues to feature Lambretta’s signature low and long styling, complemented by a full steel monocoque body, distinctive hexagonal headlight, and the brand’s iconic Double Arm-Link front suspension.

Power comes from a 174.5cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 17 hp at 8,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The J200 comes with a 9-litre fuel tank, weighs 139 kg, and features a 790 mm seat height.

Modern touches include a full LED lighting system and a TFT digital instrument display, providing clearer riding information and a more premium riding experience for everyday commuting. The J200 is available in Gemme White, Super Black, Cocoa Brown, and Light Grey.

In conjunction with the launch, Lambretta Malaysia also announced a strategic collaboration with VICO through the “VICO Bytes to Ride” campaign.

Running from 1 August to 30 September 2026, the campaign offers Malaysians the chance to win a Lambretta J200 VICO Edition, finished in VICO’s signature yellow, with eight winners selected each week throughout the promotion period.

According to Lambretta, the campaign aims to introduce the new J200 to a wider audience while strengthening the brand’s presence in Malaysia through a consumer-focused marketing initiative.

2027 Lambretta X250GP

Alongside the J200, Lambretta showcased a preview of the upcoming 2027 Lambretta X250GP at the AOS2026. Although pricing and detailed specifications remain undisclosed for now, its debut highlights Lambretta’s push to expand its premium scooter presence in Malaysia. The X250GP Speedster is set to arrive in three fresh colorways: Aurora Grey Matte, Super Black, and Latte Brown.

The Lambretta J200 is expected to strengthen the brand’s presence in Malaysia’s growing premium scooter segment, combining classic Italian styling with modern features for riders seeking both heritage and practicality.
