Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati closed the first quarter of 2021 with a stunning performance when it once again recorded the highest sales figures.

Ducati successfully delivered 13,450 units of motorcycles worldwide from January to March this year, marking a 5 per cent increase over the same period for 2021.

A few months earlier, the Ducati Multistrada V4 remained the best-selling model with 2,456 units sold followed by the Monster (1,868) and the Scrambler 800 line (1,557).

Meanwhile, Italy returned to the main market for the brand with 2,544 motorcycles sold – up 8 per cent – followed by Germany (1,382 units).

According to Ducati, France has recorded an impressive increase with 1,153 units successfully delivered to customers, thus achieving a 29 per cent increase over the same period in 2021.

Demand in the UK also rose sharply with a 46 per cent increase in revenue from 860 units successfully sold.

Francesco Milicia, Ducati’s VP of Global Sales and After Sales, stated that “Ducati’s order portfolio at the end of the quarter is up by 83% over the same period of 2021, demonstrating the success that the recently presented range is already having with customers.”

“The figures achieved by Ducati during the first three months of the year, while setting a new record, are the result of strong demand for a product that has to deal with extraordinary difficulty in the world of supplies, especially for all motorcycle components equipped with semiconductors. Delays in supply chains are unfortunately affecting our ability to deliver bikes on schedule, and we apologise to our passionate customers for this. We can guarantee that the company is making every effort to reduce this inconvenience.”

We can expect the demand for Ducati to increase steadily with the launch of several new models including the DesertX and Streetfighter V2.
