In case you missed out, Motus Motorcycles has recently bid its farewell to the industry and shut down. Based in Alabama, U.S.A, the firm has become history as of September 1 of 2018.
The motorcycle shop had long operated under an all-American concept and its known for its “Corvette engine”—or half of one, the American V4. The Motus V4 was a downsized Corvette GT1 engine with the same 90-degree setup. The 1,650cc V4 is capable of producing an output of 180hp and 126 lb-ft of torque.
Motus was at the center of the American biker theme and industry. Launched in 2014, he Motus MST-R set an impeccable speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats hence becoming the fastest production motorcycle in the world.
Motus’ financial backers announced that they would halt sufficient financing for the firm the continue its activities. The team had been working on the launch of a new product therefore the call was not at all in any of our expectations.
“We were surprised and disappointed, especially because we have been working so hard preparing an October 2018 product launch into a new and exciting segment as well as new features on the MST series. This is very unfortunate timing and we will work to quickly find a new path forward for Motus Motorcycles and our American V4 powertrain division,” according to the press release.
