Round 10 of the 2025 PETRONAS MAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship came to a thrilling end at Bandar Medini Iskandar, Iskandar Puteri, Johor, as the CP150 category delivered yet another action-packed showdown. PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA MAJU MOTOR rider Nazirul Izzat Md Bahauddin emerged as the race winner, sealing the season finale with a remarkable comeback ride, especially impressive after returning from a double clavicle fracture.

Despite Nazirul’s victory, the CP150 Overall Championship title had already been secured since Round 8 by Ahmad Afif Amran of PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – CKJ RACING, who capped off his consistent season with yet another podium finish.

The race began with Afif launching straight into the lead, closely shadowed by Nazirul. Their early pace was matched by Afif’s teammate, Md Akid Aziz, who held third, while Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin and Md Faiz Zekri Sabri completed the top five.

By Lap 3, the momentum shifted as Nazirul powered past Afif to take control of the race. From there, the front-running trio, Nazirul, Afif, and Akid, engaged in an intense back-and-forth battle, exchanging positions at nearly every turn. Drama unfolded on Lap 8 when Kasma overtook Afif for third, only to suffer a crash on Lap 10 that ended his challenge for the podium.

As the race entered its decisive phase, Afif momentarily regained the lead on Lap 12, but Nazirul and Akid stayed glued to him. The three riders continued trading positions in a nail-biting duel right up until the chequered flag.

Nazirul ultimately crossed the line first with a time of 14’37.880s, showcasing resilience, determination, and flawless racecraft. Akid finished a close second, just 0.139s behind, followed by Afif in third.

Nazirul described the hard-fought win as deeply meaningful: “The 2025 season was very challenging for me, full of tough moments and the struggle to find victory. Coming back from a double clavicle fracture, I never expected to win my first race! Ending the season with this sweet victory truly means a lot.”

Afif wraps up the 2025 season as the CP150 Overall Champion with 214 points, followed by Kasma Daniel in second (152 points) and Akid Aziz in third (141 points). Nazirul’s finale victory also solidified his position in the top five overall.
