“Jobs fill the pocket but adventures fill the soul,” the saying goes, and one Malaysian couple has truly embraced this philosophy since 2017, exploring the world on two wheels.

Meet Mohd Alfishahrin Zakaria, 38, and his wife, Diana Latief, 37. This duo has become widely known for their passion for adventure and their incredible journey riding a humble kapchai motorbike across the globe. What started as a dream has become a reality as they continue to travel the world, equipped only with their Honda RSX 150cc and a deep sense of curiosity.

Their epic journey began in December of last year when they set out on their RSX 150cc, travelling through various countries and encountering new faces. With every mile, they’ve collected countless stories, proving that sometimes, even the smallest bikes can lead to the biggest adventures.

In a recent conversation with iMotorbike, Alfi opened up about their experiences. He shared tales of diverse cultures, the challenges of long-distance riding, and unforgettable moments that have made their journey so special.

“Go out and travel with what you have,” Alfi said. “You don’t need to wait until you’re rich. The world is out there for you to see.”

Mohd Alfishahrin and wife Diana prove that with determination and a small bike, epic adventures are possible.

The couple officially left Malaysia on 29th December 2023. After shipping their bike to Pakistan, they continued to Qatar to watch the AFC Champions League Elite tournament, where Malaysia’s team was competing.

From there, their journey took them from Pakistan to Iran, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and back to Qatar. After the tournament, they ventured across Iran, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, Germany, and France. Now, as they push further north into Scandinavia, Alfi’s social media posts reveal they are currently exploring Norway after visiting Sweden.

“Our next destinations are still up in the air,” Alfi shared. “We’ll keep travelling as long as our Schengen visa allows. Plus, my wife’s happy since we’re ticking off places on her travel wishlist.”

For Alfi and Diana, this journey is about much more than reaching new destinations. It’s about the people they’ve met, the life lessons learned on the road, and the freedom that only long-distance travel can bring. From crossing deserts to overcoming language barriers, their story is one of perseverance and a truly adventurous spirit.

The couple also shared how they marked Malaysia’s National Independence Day and Hari Malaysia while on the road, far from home.

These two significant national events took on an even deeper meaning as they celebrated abroad, representing their homeland with pride and passion. “Many Malaysians abroad gather to celebrate these days,” Alfi shared. “Sometimes it feels like we’re not so far from home after all.”

When asked about bike maintenance, Alfi emphasized the importance of keeping the bike in good condition. “Don’t ride recklessly. Be mindful of basic maintenance like engine oil and the filter,” he advised.

To close our chat, Alfi left us with some final words of wisdom: “Go out and see the world with whatever you have. If you wait until you have enough money, you’ll never do it. Start with what you’ve got—even if it’s RM1,000, travel like someone with RM1,000.”

Alfi and Diana’s journey is a reminder that while jobs may fill our pockets, it’s the adventures we take that truly enrich our souls. Their story is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the beauty of human connection, inspiring others to follow their own paths to adventure.
