The PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team concluded its 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship campaign at the Circuito de Jerez. Ángel Nieto, with Tito Rabat and Zaqhwan Zaidi delivering determined performances in the final round of the season. Rabat finished 16th in Sunday’s main race, while Zaidi claimed 21st, marking a solid end to the team’s season-long efforts.

The day began with a brief warm-up session under clear skies. Unfortunately, a small crash for Zaqhwan Zaidi prevented the Malaysian from completing final setup checks ahead of the Superpole Race. Meanwhile, Rabat enjoyed a smooth and productive session before heading into the 10-lap sprint race.

Starting from 21st on the grid, the Spanish rider made steady progress, climbing to 18th by the chequered flag after a consistent and determined ride. Despite his earlier setback, Zaidi rejoined the action from 24th on the grid, advancing to 21st mid-race and maintaining his pace to finish strongly in the same position.

In the afternoon, the final 20-lap race of the 2025 season got underway at 2:00 PM local time (CET). Rabat made a fast start from P20 and quickly gained two positions. Holding his rhythm throughout, the former MotoGP rider crossed the finish line in 16th place, just outside the points but demonstrating solid pace and consistency. Zaidi also showed improvement, finishing P21 and reducing the gap to the front compared to Saturday’s Race 1.

With the season now concluded, Tito Rabat finishes the 2025 WorldSBK Championship 23rd overall with nine points, while Zaqhwan Zaidi ends his rookie season 26th with one point. The PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team extends its appreciation to both riders and the entire crew for their commitment, hard work, and teamwork throughout a demanding season.

Tito Rabat | #53

“It’s been a challenging weekend, but we’ve worked hard, pushed and finished this last race 33 seconds from the front. Generally speaking, I think we’ve worked 100% with the package we have. I think we’ve reached quite a good level and improved the bike, considering that I only joined the team for the final rounds. Let’s see what the future brings”

Zaqhwan Zaidi | #21

“I tried to enjoy the last race of this SBK season. During my rookie year, I’ve tried to push as hard as possible and do my very best each weekend, always giving 100%. At this level it’s not easy but I feel we’ve worked well together as a team and there has been progress, for sure. I’m very grateful for the team; they’ve worked really hard all season. All I can say is a big thank you to the team for this opportunity; I hope we might have the chance to work together again in the future.”

The PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team now looks ahead to the next chapter, with future plans to be announced soon.
