Jake Dixon stormed back to victory in Malaysia, clinching his third win of the 2025 Moto2 season for the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team. The British rider, who last stood on the top step at the Grand Prix of the Americas earlier in the year, delivered a commanding performance at Sepang International Circuit to reignite his campaign.

David Alonso continued his impressive form by securing back-to-back podiums for the first time in his Moto2 career. After finishing second in Phillip Island, the young Spaniard repeated the feat at Sepang, showcasing consistency and pace in the final stages of the season.

Rounding out the podium was Barry Baltus of the Fantic Racing Lino Sonego team, who claimed his seventh podium of the season but still searches for that elusive first career win. Daniel Holgado, who set a blistering qualifying pace on Saturday, narrowly missed out on the podium, finishing fourth for the CFMOTO Aspar Team.

In the title race, Diogo Moreira emerged as the new championship leader after finishing fifth in the Malaysian Grand Prix. His main rival, Manuel Gonzalez, suffered a dramatic crash at the final corner and could only manage 25th place, handing Moreira the advantage in the points standings.

Albert Arenas continued his strong late-season form, bringing the ITALJET Gresini Moto2 machine home in sixth, his fourth consecutive top-ten result. Daniel Muñoz overcame a double long-lap penalty to finish seventh for Red Bull KTM Ajo in the restarted race, while Alex Escrig earned his first top-ten finish since the Argentinian GP, crossing the line eighth at Sepang.

Moto2 rookie Collin Veijer maintained his impressive consistency with a ninth-place finish, marking his seventh top-ten result of the season, while Tony Arbolino completed the top ten for BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2, his first appearance in the top ten since the Japanese Grand Prix.

With just a few rounds remaining, the championship battle now shifts in Moreira’s favour, while Dixon’s dominant win reasserts his presence as one of the season’s top performers.
