Aprilia Racing ready for the challenge in Australia

Aprilia Racing ready for the challenge in Australia

Marco Bezzecchi and Lorenzo Savadori set to represent Aprilia Racing at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix.

Aprilia Racing

After a brief break following the Indonesian Grand Prix, Aprilia Racing is gearing up for the next stop on the MotoGP calendar, the Australian Grand Prix at the iconic Phillip Island Circuit. This weekend marks the 19th round of the season, with Marco Bezzecchi and Lorenzo Savadori set to fly the flag for Aprilia Racing.

Bezzecchi arrives in Australia looking to bounce back from a dramatic weekend in Mandalika, where he secured pole position with a new track record and won the sprint race, before a crash in Sunday’s main race ended his hopes for a double podium. Determined to convert his strong pace into a full-race result, the Italian is aiming for redemption on the fast and flowing Phillip Island layout.

Joining him will be Lorenzo Savadori, stepping in once again for Jorge Martín, who continues his recovery from a right collarbone injury sustained at the Japanese Grand Prix in Motegi. Martín has been sidelined since undergoing surgery and has yet to confirm a return date.

Savadori, who has made nine appearances so far this season, will be making his 10th start of the year and first since the German Grand Prix, bringing with him valuable experience as Aprilia’s official test rider. Beyond racing duties, Savadori will also continue development work on the RS-GP25 prototype throughout the weekend.

“First of all, I’d like to wish Jorge a quick recovery and hope to see him back soon,” said Savadori. “Phillip Island is a gorgeous circuit, and I can’t wait to get back on track. We’ll continue working on the RS-GP25 and I’ll be giving it my all, as always.”

Bezzecchi, meanwhile, is cleared to race following a collision with Marc Marquez during the first lap in Indonesia that left him shaken but uninjured. Despite a potential penalty looming over the incident, the Italian remains focused on strong performance Down Under.

“I’m happy to be returning to Australia and I have a great desire to continue doing well,” Bezzecchi shared. “I’ll be giving one hundred percent to make up for the long race in Mandalika.”

Aprilia’s resilience will be tested again this weekend, as the team looks to finish the overseas leg on a high note before the final round in Malaysia. With Bezzecchi’s proven pace and Savadori’s technical input, Aprilia aims to stay competitive at one of MotoGP’s most demanding and unpredictable circuits.
