After a few years without major updates, Aprilia has finally revived its flagship RSV4 superbike for 2025, marking a new chapter for one of the most storied bikes in motorcycling.
The RSV4, a bike built with the singular purpose of dominating the racetrack, has earned countless victories and acclaim over the years, including competing in MotoGP—a unique achievement for a production superbike.
Unveiled at EICMA 2024 in Milan, the new RSV4 arrives with aerodynamic tweaks, braking upgrades, and enhanced tech, available in two models: the base RSV4 and the higher-spec RSV4 Factory. Both feature an updated aero package inspired by Aprilia’s MotoGP machine, including a new twin-layer winglet setup to improve downforce and stability at high speeds.
At the heart of both models is Aprilia’s narrow-angle 1,099cc V4 engine, which now produces a staggering 220 hp at 13,100 rpm which is 3 hp more than before and 125 Nm of torque—making it the world’s most powerful Euro 5+ compliant production superbike.
Paired with a six-speed gearbox and a quick shifter as stock, the engine has been fine-tuned to meet the latest emission standards without sacrificing power.
Aprilia has also introduced a predictive electronic control system for 2025, which uses data from parameters like speed, lean angle, and throttle position to adjust systems like traction and wheelie control in real time.
Additionally, the RSV4 Factory comes equipped with the Öhlins Smart EC2.0 semi-active suspension. This system automatically adjusts the electronic settings of the semi-active Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension according to the preferences set by the rider before going out on track. However, the Noale manufacturer hasn’t yet moved to the EC 3.0 system that rivals Honda and Ducati are now using.
Braking has been upgraded to Brembo’s Hypure calipers which are also seen on the new Ducati Panigale V4, improving stopping power. The new aero package reduces drag and rider heat by six per cent and incorporates an updated exhaust system designed to minimize heat while accommodating aftermarket options for track riders.
A fresh five-inch TFT display with backlit controls completes the tech overhaul, offering an intuitive interface and fuel gauge.
As for aesthetics, the RSV4 and RSV4 Factory have distinct looks. The RSV4 is offered in two colours: Poison Yellow, featuring bold yellow accents, and Stingray Blue, an electric blue with red highlights.
The RSV4 Factory, meanwhile, stands out in Dark Kraken, an aggressive black paired with a two-tone seat and premium forged aluminium wheels.
With its racing-inspired upgrades and refined power delivery, the 2025 Aprilia RSV4 models promise to continue the brand’s legacy in the superbike world, catering to riders seeking top-tier performance with an undeniable racing pedigree.
