2027 Ducati Panigale V4 SP Reportedly Set to Join Line-Up

2027 Ducati Panigale V4 SP Reportedly Set to Join Line-Up

Ducati is reportedly preparing a new Panigale V4 SP for 2027, with the track-focused superbike expected to slot between the standard Panigale V4 and the race-homologated V4 R.

Ducati could be bringing back the Panigale V4 SP for the 2027 model year, with regulatory documents reportedly confirming the arrival of the new track-focused variant.

According to Motorcycle.com, the 2027 Panigale V4 SP has been referenced in documents submitted to the California Air Resources Board (CARB), suggesting that Ducati is preparing to expand its already extensive Panigale V4 family.

The SP designation has been used by Ducati on several performance-focused models, including the previous-generation Panigale V4 SP and V4 SP2. However, the current Panigale V4 range does not feature an SP variant.

If introduced, the new V4 SP is expected to sit between the standard Panigale V4 and the V4 R, which is developed as a race homologation model for competition use, including championships such as WorldSBK and the British Superbike Championship (BSB).

CARB certified Ducati’s 2027 Panigale V4 range in March 2026, while the manufacturer is understood to have submitted an updated filing last month that specifically references the V4 SP.

Track-Focused Hardware Expected

Technical details of the 2027 Panigale V4 SP remain limited at this stage. However, the model is expected to use the same 1,103cc V4 engine found in other Panigale V4 variants, producing around 214–215 hp.

Ducati previously equipped its V4 SP and SP2 models with a number of upgrades designed to improve track performance. These included an STM-EVO SBK dry clutch, replacing the standard hydraulic clutch system.

The previous SP models also featured adjustable billet-aluminium footpegs, carbon-fibre wheels, a brushed-aluminium fuel tank, a lightweight 520 chain and upgraded Brembo braking components.

Ducati’s Data Analyzer+ performance data logging system was also included as standard equipment on the previous track-focused variants.

Similar hardware could make its way onto the 2027 Panigale V4 SP, although Ducati has yet to confirm the specification.

The new SP is therefore expected to offer a more performance-oriented specification than the standard V4 while stopping short of the highly specialised V4 R.

Expanding an Already Extensive Panigale Family

Ducati previously introduced the Panigale V4 SP for the 2021 model year before following it with the V4 SP2 in 2022.

For 2026, the Panigale V4 family includes the standard V4, V4 S, V4 S Corse, V4 Tricolore, V4 R, the limited Panigale V4 S 100 and the special V4 Marquez 2025 World Champion Replica.

The reported arrival of the V4 SP would give Ducati another option for riders looking for a more track-oriented specification without stepping up to the race-homologated V4 R.

The 2027 Ducati Panigale V4 SP is expected to be revealed as part of Ducati’s World Première series later this year, when further details including specifications and pricing are likely to be announced. Stay tuned with us!
