KLCA aims to bounce back in the cycling scene, and they believe Razlan’s influence is the key.
KLCA committee member and coach, Datuk Ng Joo Ngan, shared that they need someone influential, and Razlan fits the bill. They’ve presented their plan to Razlan, and if all goes well, he’ll be officially named president in February.
Razlan, formerly CEO at Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and later in MotoGP, is familiar with KLCA. Joo Ngan, who’s known Razlan since age 14, emphasized his influence is vital for attracting sponsors.
“We want to produce top local talents, but without enough funds, it’s tough. So, bringing in Razlan, who’s into cycling, makes sense,” said Joo Ngan.
For Joo Ngan and KLCA leaders, past controversies in Razlan’s MotoGP stint don’t matter. Joo Ngan trusts the decision, saying, “Give him a year, and we’ll support him in bringing KLCA back to its golden era.”
As KLCA gears up for potential change under Razlan’s lead, the community eagerly awaits confirmation at the upcoming Annual General Meeting, hopeful for a revived Kuala Lumpur Cycling Association.
