Boon Siew Honda has introduced the all-new Honda PCX160 in Malaysia, marking the return of the premium urban scooter after a six-year absence. The latest model features updated styling, improved technology and smartphone connectivity aimed at everyday riders.

Priced at RM12,998, excluding road tax, insurance and registration, the Honda PCX160 is scheduled to arrive at Honda Impian X and Boon Siew Honda authorised dealerships starting today. Buyers can choose between two colour options of Grey and White.

Powering the Honda PCX160 is a 157cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-valve SOHC engine producing 15.8PS at 8,500rpm and 14.7Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The engine is paired with a V-Matic automatic transmission and belt drive.

The scooter weighs 132kg and comes with an 8.1-litre fuel tank. Boon Siew Honda claims fuel consumption of 2.3 litres per 100km, giving the PCX160 a theoretical riding range of approximately 350km on a full tank.

In terms of features, the Honda PCX160 comes equipped with Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), front-wheel ABS, a Smart Key system and an engine stop-start function. A USB-C charging port is also included for charging compatible devices on the go. For practicality, the scooter features a 30-litre under-seat storage compartment. Its seat height is set at 764mm, while ground clearance measures 134mm.

The cockpit features a 5-inch TFT-LCD display that presents riding information. Honda RoadSync connectivity also comes as standard, allowing riders to connect their smartphones to the scooter via Bluetooth. This makes the PCX 160 the second scooter in Honda’s lineup to adopt the technology, following closely in the footsteps of the recently updated ADV160.

Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers with remote gas reservoirs. For braking, the PCX160 uses hydraulic disc brakes at both the front and rear, with single-channel ABS operating on the front wheel. The scooter rolls on a 14-inch front wheel and a 13-inch rear wheel, fitted with 110/70 front and 130/70 rear tyres.

With its combination of automatic transmission, practical storage, rider assistance systems and smartphone connectivity, the Honda PCX160 returns to Malaysia as an option for riders seeking a premium scooter for daily commuting.

Every PCX160 comes with a two-year or 20,000km warranty against manufacturing defects. Customers trading in their previous-generation Honda PCX150 for the new PCX160 will also receive an additional one-year extended warranty under the Honda X-Tend Warranty programme.
