The 2026 Malaysian Grand Prix will mark a special milestone for Hakim Danish as the Malaysian rider prepares to compete in front of his home crowd for the first time in the Moto3 World Championship.
To mark the occasion, the AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi rider will wear a special livery that combines elements of Malaysian culture with personal references to his hometown of Terengganu.
The design was unveiled through Hakim Danish’s official social media account, with each element carrying its own meaning and reflecting the rider’s connection to his home country.
“Riding on home soil with a look that tells a story! Every detail carries a piece of home, from flowing lines inspired by Terengganu’s coastal waters to the Bunga Raya, Wau Bulan and sea turtle, symbolising national pride, ambition and the endurance of his coastal roots.
A unique blend of culture, speed, and passion as Hakim takes on his home race. Let’s make some noise for our rookie at Sepang!”
Ahead of the Malaysian Grand Prix, Hakim admitted that he was excited to race in front of Malaysian fans and was determined to deliver his best performance for his team and the country.
“This is my home race week, and I am very happy and excited to compete at the Malaysian Grand Prix. I am certainly feeling even more motivated to race and cannot wait to get out on track this weekend. Of course, I want to give my very best for the team, Malaysia, my family and everyone who has supported me. I hope to perform at my best throughout the weekend,” said Hakim Danish.
The young rider is a product of the SIC rider development programme operated by ZK Racing, which is owned by former Malaysian rider Zulfahmi Khairuddin.
Hakim is competing in his first full season in the Moto3 World Championship this year and has already delivered notable results. He secured a third-place finish at Mugello before claiming his maiden Moto3 victory at the Czech Republic Grand Prix in June. His victory ended a 10-year wait for a Malaysian rider to win a Moto3 race, following Khairul Idham Pawi’s success in 2016.
With his first home Grand Prix now approaching, Hakim will look to build on his progress this season and deliver a strong performance at Sepang, backed by Malaysian fans.
