California-based CSC Motorcycles has just unveiled the Honda Super Cub inspired 2021 CSC Monterey electric vintage scooter.

Honda has been teasing us with the EV-Cub concept for some time now. The EV-Cub concept was initially showcased at the Tokyo Motor show almost 11 years ago in 2009. As of 2020, although we have come across a few patent filings, Honda hasn’t officially announced their plans on making it into production.
However, companies like Shanghai Customs have already started making their own version electric Cub. Based in Shanghai, Shangai custom utilizes used Honda Super Cub’s chassis to manufacture modern electric Cubs. New motorcycle manufacturer to join the electric Cub scene is CSC motorcycles. The California-based company has just introduced an all-new Honda Super Cub inspired electric vintage scooter called the CSC Monterey. The CSC Monterey isn’t a clone of the Honda Super Cub but from the looks of it, we can say it gets inspiration from the iconic Cub.
2021 CSC Monterey
Starting with the design, the CSC Monterey features Honda Super Cub inspired bodywork with its own personalized vintage touch. On the inside, it even features a Super Cub inspired metal instrument cluster with circular dials to go hand in hand with the overall theme.
The CSC Monterey is powered by a 2.4kw brushless motor, mated to a 60V 26Ah Lithium battery, the Monetary produces 120N.m / 88ft/lb of peak torque and capable of hitting a top speed of 32Mph / 52kmph. Range wise, CSC claims the model can go up to 20-65 Miles / 23km – 104 km depending on the riding style and road conditions.
CSC Monetary features 17-inch spoke wheels with 70/90 front tyre and 80/90 rear tyre. Suspension duties are taken care of by conventional telescopic front fork and telescopic shocks at the rear. Braking is done via drum brakes at the front and rear. Dimension wise, the Monetary rolls in with a 1235mm wheelbase and a 140mm ground clearance.
In the case of pricing, the 2021 CSC Monterey is priced at $1,995 / Approx. MYR 8,000 in the US. This is roughly $1750 cheaper than the 2021 Honda Super Cub C125 ABS that’s offered in the US. We think this would be a great fit for those who love electric scooters and Cubs in general. It’s mainly meant for city riding, so if you are looking for a budget urban electric scooter with a touch of Japanese inspired design; then the CSC Monterey is for you.
