Ducati has achieved another historic milestone in motorcycle racing after becoming the first non-Japanese manufacturer to win the All Japan Road Race Championship (JSB1000), Japan’s premier national Superbike series.
The landmark achievement came courtesy of Ryo Mizuno, who claimed the 2026 championship aboard the SDG Ducati Team Kagayama Panigale V4 R. It marks the first time in the history of the championship that a manufacturer from outside Japan has captured the title in the country’s top production-based racing class.

Mizuno Dominates the 2026 JSB1000 Season
Mizuno sealed the championship during the penultimate race of the final round at Suzuka Circuit on 24 October. His victory in Race 1 gave huge lead in the standings, allowing him to secure the title with one race still remaining in the season.
The Japanese rider enjoyed a dominant campaign from start to finish, winning eight of the ten races on the 2026 calendar. His consistency and outright pace proved too much for the competition, helping Ducati rewrite the history books in one of the world’s most competitive domestic Superbike championships. The achievement is particularly significant given Japan’s long-standing dominance by its home manufacturers in the JSB1000 category.
Panigale V4 R Continues Its Winning Streak
The success in Japan adds to an outstanding year for Ducati’s Panigale V4 R, which has collected championship victories across multiple national and international Superbike series.
In Asia, Hafizh Syahrin successfully defended his Asia Superbike Championship title for a second consecutive season, while Harrison Voight secured the Australian Superbike Championship, finishing ahead of three fellow Ducati riders.
The Panigale V4 R also delivered championship-winning performances across Europe. Kyle Ryde captured the British Superbike Championship (BSB), while Lukas Tulovic lifted the German EuroMoto Superbike Championship title.
These achievements came shortly after Nicolò Bulega claimed the 2026 FIM Superbike World Championship, producing an outstanding campaign that included 32 race victories and four runner-up finishes from 36 races.

Ducati Dealers Celebrate Historic Achievement
Ducati’s success in Japan was also supported by its local dealer network throughout the season. Ducati Hamamatsu, Ducati Sapporo, and Ducati Kyoto partnered with Team Kagayama as official sponsors, while Ducati Osaka East organised fan engagement activities at selected championship rounds.
These included display areas and Meet & Greet sessions that allowed supporters to celebrate the team’s achievements throughout the season. The collaboration highlighted Ducati’s continued commitment to growing its presence in the Japanese motorcycle racing scene.
Strong Results Across Superbike and Supersport
Beyond its Superbike success, Ducati also celebrated another successful year in production-based motorcycle racing through the Supersport category.
In the United States, Josh Herrin delivered Ducati’s fourth consecutive Daytona 200 victory, while Darryn Binder claimed the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship. Meanwhile, in the United Kingdom, Luke Stapleford added another title to Ducati’s collection by winning the British Supersport Championship.
With championship victories spanning Japan, Asia, Australia, Europe, the United States, and the World Superbike Championship, Ducati has enjoyed one of the most successful racing seasons in its history, further reinforcing the Panigale V4 R’s status as one of the most competitive production-derived superbikes on the grid.
