The All-New Kawasaki KLE500 Available in Malaysia, at RM32,900

Kawasaki’s new middleweight adventure motorcycle, the KLE 500 is now available in Malaysia at a retail price of RM32,900, not including road tax and insurance, and are available in three different colour schemes: Metallic Carbon Grey, Ebony, and Frame Flat Black.

Powered by a 451cc parallel-twin DOHC eight-valve engine, the power output is claimed to be 44.8 hp at 9,000 rpm and 42.6 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm which is delivered to the rear wheels via a six-speed gearbox and chain final drive.

Since this is an adventure motorcycle, you will be feasted with what you would expect from an adventure machine. The KLE 500 uses a 21-inch front wheel wrapped in a 90/90 tyre and a 17-inch rear wheel wrapped in a 140/70 tyre. 

Braking wise, the KLE 500 uses a single 300 mm diameter brake disc with two-piston caliper up front and a single 230 mm disc with two-piston caliper in the rear. There is also switchable two-channel Nissin ABS that comes as standard.

Suspension duties are carried out using a 43 mm diameter upside-down fork up front which gives 210 mm of suspension travel. While the rear is fitted with Kawasaki’s Uni Trak suspension with preload-adjustable monoshock which gives 196 mm of suspension travel. 

Riding information is displayed using an LCD screen that is positioned at an ready-to-read angle. A tall rally-style windshield comes standard for better rider protection and it is adjustable to three positions: standard height, 27 mm higher, and 55 mm higher.

With a fuel tank rated at around 16-liers, the KLE 500 weighs around 194 kg, while the seat height is rated around 870 mm which provides 185 mm of ground clearance.
