The Formula 4 (F4) championship returns to Malaysia this year with three rounds scheduled to take place at the Sepang International Circuit. The return of the series is sure to put a smile on local motorsport fans who have long been anticipating single-seater racing action in the country.

The last time F4 was held in Malaysia was in September 2025, and this year it returns with a more packed and exciting calendar.

Malaysia Hosts Three Important Rounds

Based on the 2026 season calendar, Malaysia will be the location for the three main rounds of the championship. The opening round is scheduled to take place from April 24 to 26 in Sepang.

In addition, Sepang will also host the third round from 24 to 26 July, before once again hosting the fourth round from 18 to 20 September. This makes Malaysia one of the main locations in the Southeast Asian F4 calendar this season.

Thailand Hosting Another Round

Meanwhile, another round will take place in Thailand, namely the second round scheduled from 22 to 24 May at the Chang International Circuit.

Interestingly, an invitational race will also be held in Thailand from 3 to 5 July, this time at the Bangsaen Street Circuit which is famous for its unique challenges.

What is Formula 4?

In the world of formula racing, there are several different levels, with Formula 1 (F1) being the highest level. Formula 4 is known as the entry-level category for single-seater racing.

F4 plays an important role as a development platform for young racers. It is here that they begin to hone their skills before moving on to the next level of their motorsport careers.
