The record-breaking 33-time TT winner Michale Dunlop joins an elite list of racing icons recognized for their outstanding contributions to motorcycle sport.

Michael Dunlop

Isle of Man TT icon Michael Dunlop has been officially awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for his remarkable contributions to motorcycle racing. The honour was presented by King Charles III during a ceremony at Windsor Castle on 4 November 2025.

Dunlop’s recognition follows a phenomenal run of achievements that have cemented his place as one of the greatest road racers in history. In 2024, he surpassed the long-standing TT record held by his late uncle, Joey Dunlop, who had 26 wins to his name. Continuing his dominance, Michael added four more victories in 2025, taking his career total to an unmatched 33 TT wins.

His latest triumphs came in the Supersport and Supertwin categories, where he impressively claimed double victories in both classes. Beyond the Isle of Man TT, Dunlop has also showcased his skill in international competitions, including a strong showing at the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans aboard a BMW M1000 RR, teaming up with Danny Webb and Enzo Boulom.

Sharing his thoughts on social media, Dunlop expressed heartfelt gratitude: “I’m deeply honoured to have received my MBE today from His Majesty the King. It’s a privilege to have my work and achievements recognised in this way.”

With this accolade, Dunlop joins fellow TT legend John McGuinness, who received his own MBE in 2022. Known for his incredible consistency, Dunlop has won at least one TT race every year since 2016, marking one of the most dominant streaks in modern road racing history.

From his first TT victory in 2009 to becoming the sport’s all-time leader, Michael Dunlop’s MBE stands as a fitting tribute to a career defined by courage, talent, and relentless pursuit of excellence.
