MotoGP fans can now mark their calendars as the 2026 pre-season schedule has been officially confirmed, setting the stage for another year of high-octane racing action. Following the announcement that Kuala Lumpur will host the MotoGP Season Launch on February 6–7, the complete line-up of testing dates has been revealed.

The action begins with the Shakedown Test at Petronas Sepang International Circuit from January 29 to 31, reserved for factory test riders, rookies, and manufacturers with concessions. Shortly after, the entire MotoGP grid will take to the Sepang track for the official three-day test from February 3 to 5, offering fans their first look at new bikes, liveries, and team line-ups.

Full Rundown:

  • SHAKEDOWN TEST: 29th – 30th – 31st January
  • SEPANG TEST: 3rd – 4th – 5th February
  • SEASON LAUNCH: 6th – 7th February
  • BURIRAM TEST: 21st – 22nd February

MotoGP stated in its announcement:

“We begin with the Shakedown Test – for factory test riders, rookies, and manufacturers with concessions – at Petronas Sepang International Circuit at the end of January. Then it’s three days at Sepang with the whole grid rolling out in force ahead of the Season Launch.”

The spotlight then shifts to the glittering Malaysian capital, where Kuala Lumpur will host the Season Launch — a two-day celebration featuring the riders, teams, and unveiling of 2026 machinery.

Finally, the grid will head to Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand, for the final pre-season test on February 21–22, just one week before the lights go out for the season opener.

Before all that, fans will get their first glimpse of the new season during the Valencia Test, held the Tuesday after the 2025 season finale — where new riders, fresh liveries, and upgraded machines will debut for the very first time.

As MotoGP gears up for 2026, Malaysia and Thailand once again take centre stage, ensuring that Southeast Asia remains the heartbeat of the championship’s pre-season action.
