Round 9 of the PETRONAS MAM Malaysian Cub Prix 2025 at Stadium Negeri Pulau Pinang delivered yet another thrilling showcase in the CP150 category, with Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin from PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA MAJU MOTOR storming to victory. His win not only capped off a commanding race but also confirmed his second-place finish overall in the 2025 CP150 championship standings.
From the very start, Kasma wasted no time taking control of the race, charging to the front ahead of Azroy Hakeem Anuar (HONDA ESTREMO YUZY RACING) and teammate Danial Syahmi Ahmad Shahril. Behind them, Md Akid Aziz (PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – CKJ RACING) and Md Idil Fitri Mahadi (JETRON YAMAHA YYPANG RACING TEAM) followed closely in pursuit.
The race was briefly halted when Md Syafiq Rosli (JETRON YAMAHA YYPANG RACING TEAM) crashed on Lap 5, triggering a red flag and a restart over 12 laps. On the restart, Kasma maintained his composure, continuing to set a strong pace while the battle behind him intensified. Ahmad Afif Amran clocked the fastest lap of the race at 51.092s on Lap 10, overtaking Azroy to move into second place.
Kasma, however, remained untouchable at the front, eventually crossing the finish line with a time of 14’20.373s, 2.159 seconds clear of Afif, while Azroy rounded out the podium in third. The win awarded Kasma 25 championship points, bringing his total to 147 points, 26 ahead of Akid in third—clinching his runner-up position for the 2025 season behind champion Afif.
Expressing gratitude after the race, Kasma said: “I am thankful to my team and apologise for not being able to take the overall title. But there’s always next season, and I’ll keep improving and maturing as a rider. The weather was hot, which made tyre management tricky, but I managed to maintain my pace from start to finish. Alhamdulillah, I’m happy to win again here and finish second overall. See you all at the final round in Johor, my hometown!”
