Stefano Manzi delivered a sensational performance at the all-new Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary, claiming a perfect double win in the latest round of the 2025 FIM Supersport World Championship. The Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing rider now heads into the summer break with a commanding 59-point lead in the standings.

After a clinical victory on Saturday, Manzi returned on Sunday with another dominant display. Although he started from pole, it was Can Öncü (Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros WorldSSP Team) who took the early lead following contact between GMT94 Yamaha teammates Sergio Garcia and Lucas Mahias at Turn 1. Manzi ended the opening lap in third but wasted no time making his way forward.

Simon Jespersen provided strong resistance as Manzi battled for the lead, but the Italian eventually broke clear to cross the finish line nearly two seconds ahead of his rivals.

“It was a super good race, and I started from pole position but got dropped a bit by Öncü and Jespersen in the first lap, but I was being patient as I knew I’d chosen the hard rear tyre and it would come good later in the race. The pace they set was not super strong in the beginning, so I wanted to take the lead so I made the passes and tried to do my own pace and I was strong, I set the lap record but then I lost the gap I’d built with a small mistake in Turn 2 and it was impossible to drop Jespersen in the end, but I am super glad to be able to win today. It’s a good way to go on holiday!” said Manzi after Sunday’s triumph.

Behind him, Can Öncü was left to fight for the final podium position in a close scrap with Oli Bayliss, which went down to the wire.

Roberto Garcia (GMT94 Yamaha) recovered to seventh after an early off-track moment, while Indonesia’s Aldi Satya Mahendra, who had been running well inside the top ten, ultimately finished 12th. Lucas Mahias came home in 17th after the first-lap drama.

With four rounds remaining in the 2025 season, Manzi sits firmly in control of the title race with 294 points, as WorldSSP now heads into its summer break before resuming in September.
