The Petronas MAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship officially launched its 2025 season yesterday, 10th April, at the LYL International Karting Circuit, setting the stage for an exhilarating 10-round championship.
Ron Hogg, Promotions Director of Safe Aim Mutual, highlighted the championship’s enduring significance as more than just a sporting event, emphasizing its role in fostering a thriving ecosystem for the Petronas Cub Prix community.
“Our goal over 32 years has dependably been about meeting these needs while simultaneously enhancing the safety measures that would provide a safe and conducive environment for our riders. This is where we are unique in our form and functions as a sporting event. On the surface, we may be a sport but above that, we serve a larger purpose for the community, society and nation,” he said.

The 2025 season promises fresh excitement with key developments, including the expanded Petronas Sprinta Pro-Am Cup, which will see the return of former expert riders, reinforcing the championship’s inclusive spirit.
Another major highlight is the debut of Voge Racing Team, a new factory entrant in the CP150 category, joining established rivals Yamaha and Honda. This marks the first time since 2021 that a new manufacturer has entered the fray, signalling growing confidence in the championship’s platform.
Hogg expressed optimism that Voge’s participation would inspire other brands to recognize the event’s value in driving innovation and engagement within the two-wheeler industry.
“With this addition, we hope that more factory brands will be inspired to see the valuable proposition of the championship as a platform in serving not only the growing needs of the two-wheels industry but the people who embrace the transformation that comes with motorsports evolution.”

Beyond the track, the Petronas Cub Prix continues its outreach efforts, focusing on road safety education and community engagement. A collaborative initiative with PERKESO will see road safety awareness programs rolled out across 16 secondary schools in the Klang Valley, further solidifying the championship’s commitment to promoting safe riding practices.
The 2025 season kicks off next weekend 19th – 20th April at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit (North), with free entry for all spectators, offering fans a thrilling start to what promises to be a landmark year for Malaysian motorsports.
