Three-time Moto3 Grand Prix winner Tatsuki Suzuki has announced his retirement from motorcycle racing after failing to secure a ride for the 2025 season.

The Japanese rider announced through social media, with a simple message on Instagram reading, “Thank you and goodbye,” while a longer explanation was posted to YouTube detailing his difficult decision to step away from the sport at the age of 27.

“Hi, I’m Tatsu Suzuki, and I wanted to tell you that I’m going to stop racing this year,” he stated in the video. “I’ve been a rider for twenty years, and this decision was definitely not easy. I made this decision because I couldn’t continue racing in a place where I always dreamt of being since I was a child. So I decided to change my goals for the future.”

Reflecting on his career, Suzuki expressed gratitude to his supporters. “There have been so many good times, some more difficult, or even bad times. However, thank you to all the people who remained close to me, and all of you with whom I’ve shared good times. Without you all, I could never have had these satisfactions. So, I thank you all. See you on the track, maybe, even if in a different way.”

Suzuki made his debut in the Moto3 World Championship in 2015 with the CIP Mahindra team, where he remained for two seasons before joining the SIC58 Squadra Corse in 2017. It was with Paolo Simoncelli’s team that Suzuki earned his first Grand Prix victory at the 2019 San Marino Grand Prix. He followed it up with a win at the 2020 Andalusian Grand Prix before moving to Leopard Honda in 2022.

His final victory came at the 2023 Argentinian Grand Prix, but a series of poor results led to him being dropped mid-season and replaced by Adrian Fernandez at Leopard. Prior to his release, Suzuki had already signed with the Intact GP Husqvarna team for the 2024 Moto3 season, his tenth year in the category. His best result of the season was a sixth-place finish at the Grand Prix of the Americas.

Suzuki leaves behind a legacy as a determined competitor in the Moto3 class. While his time in Grand Prix racing has come to an end, his farewell message suggests he may still be involved in the sport in a different capacity in the future.
