Enea Bastianini from the Ducati Lenovo Team capped off a remarkable weekend at the Monster Energy British Grand Prix with a victory, becoming the 10th different rider to win at Silverstone in the past decade.

The win catapulted Bastianini to third in the championship standings, now just 49 points behind the leader. Meanwhile, Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) reclaimed the lead in the standings, having led most of the Grand Prix before Bastianini’s late charge.

Reigning Champion Francesco Bagnaia also from the Ducati Lenovo Team completed the podium after recovering from a Saturday crash. Despite his 16-point gain on Sunday, Bagnaia is now three points behind Martin. This marks Bagnaia’s 43rd MotoGP podium, all with Ducati, making him the rider with the most podiums for the manufacturer.

Enea Bastianini of the Ducati Lenovo Team wins the Monster Energy British Grand Prix, becoming the 10th different rider to win at Silverstone in the last decade.

At the start of the race, Bagnaia took the lead, followed by Bastianini and Jorge Martin. Polesitter Aleix Espargaro dropped to fourth, briefly passed by Marc Marquez before reclaiming the position. Brad Binder faced an early exit due to an issue, and Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez crashed out on the opening lap.

Bagnaia led initially, but Martin quickly overtook both Bastianini and Bagnaia. Espargaro also passed Bastianini, who then found himself in fourth place. Marc Marquez chased the top five as they broke away, with Bagnaia maintaining the lead.

Further back, Pedro Acosta and Fabio Di Giannantonio battled for seventh, with Di Giannantonio eventually overtaking Alex Marquez for sixth. Martin took the lead from Bagnaia on Lap 12, and Bastianini moved into third by passing Espargaro. Bastianini then overtook Bagnaia for second and closed the gap to Martin.

With six laps to go, Bastianini reduced the gap to Martin. On the penultimate lap, Martin went wide, allowing Bastianini to take the lead and secure a historic win. Martin finished second, followed by Bagnaia in third.

With two weeks until the Motorrad Grand Prix of Österreich, MotoGP’s title battle intensifies, with Bastianini gaining momentum and Martin recapping the top spot.

Marc Marquez finished fourth, Di Giannantonio climbed to fifth, Espargaro took sixth, followed closely by Alex Marquez. Marco Bezzecchi finished eighth, Acosta ninth, and Franco Morbidelli completed the top ten.

As MotoGP prepares for the Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich in two weeks, the championship battle becomes more intense, with Bastianini gathering momentum and Martin returning to the top of the championship points.
