Aprilia has unveiled the RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute, a special-edition sportsbike celebrating the Italian manufacturer’s long-standing connection with Phillip Island, one of the most iconic circuits in Grand Prix motorcycle racing.
The special edition pays tribute to Aprilia’s racing achievements at the Australian circuit, where the manufacturer has recorded 10 victories across different Grand Prix classes. Aprilia has also enjoyed success at Phillip Island in the Superbike World Championship with its RSV4 superbike.
A significant milestone came in 2025 when Raúl Fernández won the Australian Grand Prix aboard the Aprilia RS-GP. The victory marked Aprilia’s 300th Grand Prix win, further strengthening its position as the most successful European manufacturer in Grand Prix motorcycle racing history.
However, Phillip Island’s final MotoGP appearance did not end as planned. Torrential rain and poor weather conditions forced organisers to cancel Sunday’s Grand Prix, bringing the circuit’s run on the MotoGP calendar to an abrupt end ahead of its move to Adelaide in 2027.
The circuit is also scheduled to host its final Superbike World Championship round at the beginning of the 2027 season, marking the end of another major chapter in its history.

Phillip Island-Inspired Special Edition Livery
The Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute features a distinctive livery inspired by the circuit and the Italian manufacturer’s racing identity. The fairings incorporate the Phillip Island logo, while the green, white and red colour scheme reflects the colours associated with both the circuit and Aprilia.
A dedicated decal on the fuel tank highlights Aprilia’s 10 victories at Phillip Island, while a serial-number plate mounted on the steering head identifies the motorcycle as part of the special edition.
The motorcycle also comes with a passenger seat cover as standard, giving it a single-seat appearance suited to riders who prefer a more focused look for track days.

660cc Engine and Electronic Rider Aids
Mechanically, the RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute remains unchanged from the standard RS 660. It is powered by a 660cc parallel-twin engine producing 105hp at 10,400rpm and 70Nm of torque at 8,400rpm.
The engine is paired with an electronic rider-aid package designed to help manage performance in different riding conditions. Features include traction control, wheelie control, engine braking control and cornering ABS.
The motorcycle also comes with adjustable engine mapping through its ride-by-wire throttle system, allowing riders to tailor its response to their preferences. Other equipment includes launch control, a bidirectional quickshifter and cruise control.
While the special edition’s main changes focus on its appearance and commemorative details, the existing RS 660 platform continues to provide the performance and electronic features expected from Aprilia’s middleweight sportsbike.

Deliveries Expected in 2027
Deliveries of the Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute are scheduled to begin in Australia and the United States in March 2027, just weeks after Phillip Island hosts its final World Superbike Championship round.
The special edition serves as a tribute to a circuit that has played a significant role in Aprilia’s racing history, celebrating its achievements at Phillip Island as the venue prepares to leave the World Championship calendar.
