With the high-rise buildings and magnificent landscape, New York is most certainly a concrete jungle. Bikes in New York would need to be able to traverse the full range of roads. Thus, they would need to have the ability and stance to manoeuvre the five boroughs. Marek Kruszynski here knew exactly what the city needed in a two-wheeler. Instead of buying one, he decided to build his very own black BMW K100RS in his small black shed.

According to Pipeburn, Marek’s journey started with YouTube.

“I was watching the Racer TV on YouTube and there was an episode about Retrorides BMW K100 with horizontal suspension, I said to myself this is it! I bought the Cafe Racer Bible by Lourenco Brothers the same evening and started collecting information.” Soon after, Marek started to get some work done “in the cosy garage of a rural house in upstate New York, Catskills.”

The donor bike is a 1993 model K1100RS. The bike was still rather new despite being almost 30 years old. Marek began to inspect the bike and got the bike down to its bare frame. He painted the frame in black and then had Damian from @thepowdertouch in Queens NY, lay down a hard-wearing layer of powder coat. Even the wheels were done too.

Marek then moves on to fit the parts from Retro Rides for their horizontal suspension kit. He measured over and over again before the final cuts and welds could be done. Then to protect all of the aluminium parts on the bike, including that new rear end, it was all Cerakoted in armour black. It is common protection for firearms.

The coating went onto many of the custom parts too. Marek intended for the upper to hold a Motogradget motoscope pro dash and gear indicator. Adam of Dixer Parts did a great job in machining the final product, in tandem with Marek’s drawings. The front suspension is rebuilt to match the new rear and lowered slightly through the clamps.

The exterior of the bike is anything but a bore. The stitched Wolf logo in red, the colour scheme were all well-thought-out.

“I was looking for some unique emblems for the bike and one day some crazy idea came to my head, why not the Wolf logo from The Witcher, since I’m formally from Poland and I grow up on Andrzej Sapkowski fantasy Witcher books I thought that it will match nicely to the dark character of my workhorse.”
