Ducati and Suzuki issue recall actions on some popular models

It’s a known fact that, even though every manufacturer tries to sell you a perfectly built motorcycle, there are always some issues that vary in the level of danger. Some issues are minor and easy to fix, others might be harder to fix.

No matter the brand, when someone discovers this type of issues, a recall action needs to be issued so the riders get their bikes fixed.

And that’s what’s happening to some of the most popular models on the Ducati and Suzuki lineup.

At the moment, the Italian manufacturer from Bologna has a recall action regarding a defect on the rear brake pads. The affected models are the 2018 1299 Panigale R Final Edition, Panigale V4 (all versions), Panigale 959 and Hypermotard 959. On these bikes, the rear brake pad friction material might get loose from the backing plate and the rear brake will become less effective and might cause an accident.

For Suzuki, the recall action is for 2017 and 2018 models.

The affected models of the Japanese brand are the V-Strom 650, GSX-S750 and GSX-R1000 and respective R variant. On these bikes, Suzuki announces that the O-ring on the fuel pump can be twisted due to an error on the assembly of the fuel pump. In the result of this mistake, fuel might leak, and when in contact with the hot engine parts, it’s possible that it may cause a fire.

Owners of the affected motorcycles should receive a letter from the respective manufacturer, with instructions on how to solve the problem.
