Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) and Red Bull have announced a new multi-year partnership that will see the Austrian energy drink company return as a major partner of the Honda HRC Castrol MotoGP team from the 2027 season.
The renewed partnership brings together two organisations with an established history in motorsport as Honda prepares to enter a new era of MotoGP competition.
Under the agreement, Red Bull branding will feature prominently on Honda HRC Castrol’s next-generation MotoGP motorcycles, team garage and rider apparel. Both companies will also work together towards competing for victories in the premier class.
Partnership dates back to 2015
Red Bull previously became a partner of Honda’s factory MotoGP team in 2015, beginning a collaboration that continued through several seasons of competition.
The two organisations worked together across multiple riders’ and constructors’ championship campaigns before their previous partnership came to an end.
The new agreement reunites Red Bull and Honda HRC ahead of the introduction of a new generation of MotoGP motorcycles and technical regulations in 2027.
Honda HRC President Koji Watanabe said the renewed partnership comes at an important stage for both the team and the championship.
“Together I have no doubt of what we can achieve and know we will be able to bring fans more incredible moments throughout our joint collaboration,” Watanabe said.
He added that Honda and Red Bull share similar goals, ambitions and standards as HRC prepares to compete with the new 850cc MotoGP machinery.
Honda prepares for 850cc MotoGP era
The 2027 MotoGP season will introduce 850cc prototype motorcycles alongside a new technical regulations package, marking one of the biggest changes to the championship in recent years.
For Honda HRC Castrol, the new regulations will coincide with Red Bull’s return as a major partner.
Honda HRC Team Manager Alberto Puig said the partnership is a natural fit given the racing involvement of both organisations.
“In racing, there are very few companies who are competing in as many different championships as HRC and Red Bull, it is a collaboration which makes clear, logical sense,” Puig said.
He added that both organisations will be focused on working towards victory as Honda enters the next phase of MotoGP competition.

2027 Honda HRC Castrol livery coming later
The full Honda HRC Castrol 2027 livery and new MotoGP motorcycle will be unveiled ahead of the 2027 MotoGP World Championship season.
The launch will provide the first look at how Red Bull’s branding will be incorporated into Honda’s new-generation MotoGP project.
With the partnership now confirmed, Honda HRC and Red Bull will begin their renewed MotoGP campaign together as the championship moves into its new 850cc era.
