ZK Racing Receives RM800,000 Sports Matching Grant for FIM MotoMini Malaysia

The 2026 grant from Malaysia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports will support grassroots motorcycle racing development and young rider talent through the FIM MotoMini Malaysia programme.

ZK Racing, the organiser of FIM MotoMini Malaysia, has received a RM800,000 Sports Matching Grant (GPS) from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) for 2026.

The grant will support the development of grassroots motorsport in Malaysia, with the funding set to be channelled towards developing and nurturing more young riders through the FIM MotoMini Malaysia programme.

According to ZK Racing, the support is part of its continued efforts to create a pathway for young riders to develop their skills and work towards professional racing careers.

ZK Racing has applied for the Sports Matching Grant annually since 2023, with the aim of supporting the continuity of its young talent development programme in Malaysian motorsport. KBS has continued to support the applications as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots motorsport development in the country.

Developing Riders From As Young As Six

More than just a racing championship, FIM MotoMini Malaysia serves as a talent development platform for young riders, with children as young as six years old given the opportunity to learn and experience motorcycle racing in a structured environment.

Through the programme, young riders are introduced to racing fundamentals while receiving guidance and training aimed at developing their skills on the circuit.

The experience also goes beyond track training, with riders gaining exposure to national and international-level racing environments recognised by the Malaysian Motorsports Association (MAM) and the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM).

The programme provides an early platform for young riders to understand the demands of competitive motorcycle racing while gaining experience in a professional motorsport environment.

The RM800,000 grant is expected to support the continuation of FIM MotoMini Malaysia and its efforts to provide opportunities for young riders from the grassroots level.
