Penang Governor Visits Boon Siew Honda Headquarters in Batu Kawan

The visit highlighted Boon Siew Honda’s manufacturing operations, long-standing roots in Penang and continued contribution to Malaysia’s motorcycle industry.

The Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Pulau Pinang, His Excellency Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Ramli Bin Ngah Talib, visited the Boon Siew Honda (BSH) headquarters in Batu Kawan, Penang, to gain a closer look at the company’s operations, motorcycle manufacturing activities and model line-up.

The visit included a briefing on BSH’s business and manufacturing operations, followed by a tour of its manufacturing plant and an overview of Honda’s motorcycle range covering various segments for Malaysian riders.

Beside that, the visit also carries particular significance for BSH, which has been part of Penang’s motorcycle and industrial landscape since 1957. Today, BSH’s Batu Kawan operations employ 362 people, highlighting the company’s role as a long-standing employer in the state.

Building on its history in Penang, BSH continues to focus on developing its manufacturing and business capabilities while responding to changing mobility needs in Malaysia.

The company also provides continuous technical and non-technical training for its employees and dealer partners as part of its efforts to develop talent within the motorcycle industry.

Honda ADV160 Presented to Penang Governor’s Office

As a gesture of appreciation for the state’s continued support of local manufacturing, BSH also presented a Honda ADV160 equipped with Honda RoadSync to the Office of the Governor. The motorcycle will be used for the Governor’s official community outreach and escort activities.

According to BSH, the presentation also represents the company’s pride in its Penang-assembled motorcycles and the technical capabilities of its local workforce.

The visit provided an opportunity to highlight BSH’s manufacturing operations while showcasing the company’s continued role in Penang’s motorcycle and industrial ecosystem.
