MotoGP Introduces New Championship Trophies for Moto2 and Moto3

MotoGP has introduced new championship trophies for the Moto2 and Moto3 World Championships, marking the first season in which the winners of both categories will receive a dedicated championship trophy instead of a medal.

The new trophies were unveiled on Thursday evening during the Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Austria, with the top three riders from both Moto2 and Moto3 joined by key team representatives and MotoGP Group Deputy CEO Carlos Ezpeleta for the presentation.

The trophy design features a distinctive stepped structure, symbolising the progression riders make throughout the MotoGP World Championship, from Moto3 to Moto2 and eventually MotoGP.

According to MotoGP, each step represents a different stage of a rider’s development, from their first experiences and challenges through to the increasingly demanding levels of competition at the top of the sport.

The wide and solid base represents the riders’ origins, including their first steps, lessons and challenges. As the structure rises towards the MotoGP premier-class motif at the top, the steps become narrower, representing the increasing demands and selectiveness of each stage.
