A comfortable riding position, comfortable foot position and suitable ergonomics make these five motorcycles the best choice for tall riders.

Not all motorcycles are built with the same ergonomics. Some models are better suited for shorter riders, while others offer a better riding position for taller riders.

For tall riders, factors such as seat height, leg position or legroom, handlebar position and overall size of the motorcycle play an important role in ensuring a more comfortable ride, especially when riding for long periods of time.

If you’re looking for a motorcycle that’s more friendly to tall riders, here are five options to consider.

Motorcycles For Tall People

1. Yamaha MT-25

The Yamaha MT-25 is powered by a 249cc parallel-twin engine that produces around 35 hp and 22.6 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox. The engine is known for its smooth and responsive power delivery, making it suitable for both daily use and weekend rides. Weighing in at around 169 kg, the MT-25 is also easy to handle despite its rather aggressive appearance.

Despite the seat height of around 780 mm, the MT-25’s ergonomics are perfect for taller riders. The small-sized fuel tank, wide handlebars and upright riding position provide a more comfortable feel than most sportbikes. Tall riders will also feel more upright when riding, making it more comfortable for daily rides as well as longer rides.

2. Modenas Z500

The Modenas Z500 uses a 451cc parallel-twin engine that produces around 44 hp and 42 Nm of torque. The engine’s performance is more than enough for daily use, in addition to having enough power for riding on the highway. Its weight of around 168 kg also makes this motorcycle easy to handle even for riders who have just upgraded to a larger capacity motorcycle.

For tall riders, the Z500 offers a comfortable riding position. The slightly higher handlebar position and footpegs that are not placed too high allow the knees to not bend too much when riding. This helps to reduce fatigue, especially if you have to travel long distances every day or touring on the weekends.

3. Kawasaki Versys 650

The Kawasaki Versys 650 is well-known as one of the most comfortable touring motorcycles in its class. It is powered by a 649cc parallel-twin engine that produces around 69 hp and 64 Nm of torque, providing powerful enough performance for both city and highway use. In addition, its 21-liter fuel tank also allows this motorcycle to travel further before needing to refuel.

What makes the Versys 650 one of the ultiame choices for tall riders is its ergonomics. With a seat height of around 840 mm, low footpegs and high handlebars, tall riders will not feel cramped when riding this motorcycle. The upright riding position also helps to reduce pressure on the back and shoulders, making it ideal for long-distance rides.

4. Benelli TRK 502 LE

The Benelli TRK 502 LE uses a 500cc parallel-twin engine that produces around 47 hp and 45 Nm of torque. This motorcycle is also developed specifically for touring use, which is why it comes with a 20-liter fuel tank, a large windshield, and a stronger chassis to provide comfort throughout every journey.

In terms of ergonomics, the TRK 502 LE is hard to argue with. Its large body, wide seat and low footpeg placement allow tall riders to sit more comfortably without feeling cramped. If you like to ride long distances or often ride for hours on end, this motorcycle is capable of providing excellent comfort throughout the journey.

5. Yamaha XMAX

For those who prefer scooters, the Yamaha XMAX is one of the best choices for tall riders. It is powered by a 250cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces around 22.5 hp and 24.3 Nm of torque, mated with a CVT automatic transmission that makes riding more relaxing, especially when facing traffic jams.

One of the reasons why the XMAX is often chosen by tall riders is its very spacious legroom. Riders can straighten their legs while riding or change their leg position easily, something that is difficult to do on most regular scooters. Coupled with the wide seat and large windshield, the XMAX provides a more comfortable riding experience whether for daily use or long-distance rides, and is one of the most comfortable scooters for tall riders.

Conclusion

Every rider has different needs, but for those with a taller build, choosing a motorcycle with appropriate ergonomics can make a big difference in terms of comfort and confidence while riding.

Whether you prefer naked bikes like the Yamaha MT-25 and Modenas Z500, touring motorcycles like the Kawasaki Versys 650 and Benelli TRK 502 LE, or a scooter like the Yamaha XMAX, these five models offer a more comfortable riding experience for taller riders.
