Kawasaki Megatrail Fun Ride 2026 Brings 393 Riders to Gerik

The second edition featured 23 Kawasaki KLE500 owners tackling a 150km adventure route through forest trails, rocky terrain, steep hills and river crossings.

Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn. Bhd. (MODENAS), a member of the DRB-HICOM Group, brought together 393 riders from across Malaysia for the second edition of the Kawasaki Megatrail Fun Ride 2026 in Gerik, Perak, last week.

The event returned for its second year following strong demand and community support after the inaugural edition was held in Jerantut, Pahang, last year.

This year’s Kawasaki Megatrail placed the Kawasaki KLE500 at the centre of the experience, with 23 KLE500 owners taking on the off-road challenge. Selected members of the Malaysian motoring media also joined the ride, experiencing the middleweight adventure motorcycle across a variety of riding conditions.

The participants were flagged off at Dataran Amanjaya Lawin, Gerik, before tackling a 150km route featuring forest trails, steep hills, rocky paths and river crossings. The riders were supported throughout the journey by route guides, motorcycle recovery teams, emergency medical personnel and designated fuelling checkpoints.

The Kawasaki Megatrail forms part of MODENAS’ efforts to grow Malaysia’s Kawasaki adventure riding community through real-world riding experiences. The programme gives owners an opportunity to experience their motorcycles beyond the showroom, build riding confidence and connect with fellow riders who share a passion for adventure.

MODENAS Chief Executive Officer Roslan Roskan said, “The strong response to our first Kawasaki Megatrail showed us that Malaysian riders want more opportunities to develop their skills, explore new terrain and connect with the wider Kawasaki community.”

“The Kawasaki Megatrail brings those elements together while giving owners the opportunity to experience our motorcycles in the environment for which they were made. For our new KLE500 owners, this is how we bring product enjoyment to life and create a more meaningful ownership journey,” he added.

Beyond the off-road challenge, participants also took part in a treasure hunt featuring 50 hidden Kawasaki flags, with each flag redeemable for RM50. Three special challenges were held along the route, with the first 10 participants to complete all three receiving mystery prizes worth RM100 each.

The event’s lucky draw was headlined by a brand-new Kawasaki KLE500 as the grand prize, alongside other prizes bringing the total prize value to almost RM50,000. The programme also included meals, camping facilities, a barbecue session and finisher recognition.

The second edition of Kawasaki Megatrail Fun Ride reinforces MODENAS’ efforts to develop Malaysia’s adventure riding community through practical riding experiences, stronger rider engagement and motorcycles designed for exploration both on and off the road.
