Thunder Motorcycles has officially entered the Malaysian market with its debut at Art of Speed 2026, held at MAEPS, Serdang. The arrival marks a new chapter for the custom motorcycle scene in Malaysia.

The custom motorcycle brand was co-founded by renowned Japanese custom builder Noro Yuji-san and Chinese custom expert Ka-san. Since its establishment in 2020, Thunder Motorcycles has focused on combining authentic Japanese custom motorcycle culture with modern engineering.

The brand aims to give riders the look and character of a professionally customised motorcycle without the high cost and complexity of aftermarket modifications.

Thunder Motorcycles Malaysia Led by Bike Continent

The Malaysian operation is spearheaded by Bike Continent Sdn Bhd, the exclusive distributor of Thunder Motorcycles in Malaysia.

The company is led by its Managing Director, Ronnie Chen. Meanwhile, official importation and homologation are handled by Mofaz Motosikal Sdn Bhd, represented by Dato’ Nik. This partnership ensures that Thunder motorcycles sold in Malaysia meet local regulatory and quality requirements.

The brand is also focused on building a strong presence across the country. Thunder Motorcycles has already established seven authorised dealerships nationwide. These dealerships will provide motorcycle sales, genuine spare parts, professional servicing and after-sales support.

Thunder also plans to expand its authorised dealer network in the coming months. This will give more Malaysian riders easier access to the brand and its services.

Thunder Motorcycles Partners with Art of Speed Malaysia

Thunder Motorcycles also announced an official collaboration with Art of Speed Malaysia during its Malaysian debut.

The partnership was unveiled by Asep Ahmad Iskandar, Founder and Festival Director of Art of Speed, together with Ronnie Chen, Managing Director of Bike Continent Sdn Bhd.

As part of the collaboration, the Art of Speed team created a one-of-a-kind custom Thunder LS250-S.

The unique motorcycle showcases the creativity and craftsmanship of Malaysia’s custom motorcycle community. It is given away as the Grand Prize for the Kembara Passport activity at Art of Speed 2026. One lucky participant have the chance to take home a truly unique Thunder motorcycle.

Thunder LS250-S Brings Factory Custom Style

The launch event also marked the official handover of Malaysia’s first 1-to-1 Custom Thunder LS250-S motorcycles to their new owners.

The Thunder LS250-S is designed for riders who want classic bobber styling without having to build a motorcycle from scratch. Instead of relying on extensive aftermarket modifications, the motorcycle comes with a complete custom-inspired design straight from the factory.

At the front, the LS250-S features a classic 74-style springer fork, giving it an unmistakable vintage appearance. The low-slung stance is further enhanced by its hand-built frame, which is designed around the motorcycle’s classic bobber proportions.

The custom character continues with a handmade exhaust, giving the LS250-S a deeper and more aggressive exhaust note. An oversized rear wheel sprocket also adds to its distinctive side profile while being designed to improve low-end torque.

For the wheels, Thunder uses wire-spoke rims paired with Shinko Saw-Tooth tyres. The combination adds to the motorcycle’s retro appearance while giving the LS250-S a rugged and distinctive look.

The design is completed by classic bobber details such as a peanut-shaped fuel tank, low solo seat and refined retro accents. Together, these elements give the motorcycle the appearance of a professionally built custom machine without requiring owners to undertake a major modification project.

This factory-custom approach is one of the main attractions of the Thunder LS250-S. Riders can enjoy the visual appeal of a custom motorcycle while retaining the convenience of buying a complete motorcycle that is ready to ride.

The result is a motorcycle that combines traditional bobber character with modern factory production. For riders who want something different from the usual motorcycles on Malaysian roads, the LS250-S offers a distinctive alternative.

Building the Thunder Lifestyle in Malaysia

For Thunder Motorcycles, entering Malaysia is about more than selling motorcycles. The company aims to build a community around the Thunder lifestyle while making factory-custom motorcycles more accessible to local riders.

With seven authorised dealerships already operating nationwide, the brand has also taken its first step towards providing nationwide sales and after-sales support.

Ronnie Chen, Managing Director of Bike Continent Sdn Bhd, said the company’s goal is to build a strong community around Thunder Motorcycles while making ownership and servicing more accessible.

“Our goal is not simply to introduce another motorcycle brand to Malaysia, but to build a vibrant community around the Thunder lifestyle. By expanding our dealership network and strengthening our after-sales support, we want every rider across Malaysia to enjoy easy access to own, service, and experience Thunder Motorcycles with complete confidence,” said Ronnie Chen.

A New Chapter for Malaysia’s Custom Motorcycle Scene

The arrival of Thunder Motorcycles Malaysia adds another option for riders looking for a factory-built motorcycle with a strong custom identity. Its debut at Art of Speed 2026 also highlights the brand’s connection with Malaysia’s growing custom motorcycle culture.

With Japanese custom design influences, factory-built custom styling, a growing dealership network and local partnerships, Thunder Motorcycles is looking to establish itself in Malaysia’s lifestyle motorcycle segment.

The Thunder LS250-S, in particular, offers riders a way to experience classic bobber styling without taking on the cost and complexity of a full custom build.

As Thunder Motorcycles continues to expand its presence across Malaysia, the brand’s entry could bring even more attention to the growing demand for distinctive, factory-custom motorcycles in the country.
