JPJ introduces the JPJvBid mobile app, allowing Malaysians to bid for seized cars and motorcycles online. The first digital auction is scheduled for April 2026.

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has introduced a new mobile application called JPJvBid, allowing the public to participate in auctions of seized and forfeited vehicles directly from their smartphones.

According to reports, the app will be available for download starting 10 March 2026 via the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery. Users can access the platform by logging in with an existing MyJPJ ID or by registering a new account through the official JPJ portal.

Digital Vehicle Auction Platform

JPJvBid digitises the vehicle auction process, allowing users to browse available vehicles and submit bids entirely online. Through the app, users can view vehicle listings, check key details and review a Vehicle Rating Report before placing a bid.

Participants will also be able to purchase e-catalogues priced at RM50 per auction series, which provide additional information about the vehicles available in each auction. Similar to the JPJeBid system used for vehicle registration number bidding, each listing includes the starting price and minimum bid increments.

No Physical Inspections

Under the new system, JPJ no longer allows physical inspections or in-person auction sessions. Instead, bidders must rely on the digital photos, vehicle descriptions and bidding history available in the app when making their decisions.

First Auction Scheduled in April

E-catalogues for the first auction series will be available from 18 March 2026, with the inaugural online auction scheduled to take place from 1 to 5 April 2026.

JPJ Selangor will lead the initial rollout with a pilot auction involving 30 vehicles, including motorcycles, cars and scrap vehicles. The department plans to expand the system nationwide once the pilot phase is completed.

Improving Transparency and Efficiency

JPJ Director-General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said the move to a digital auction platform aims to improve the speed, transparency and accountability of the vehicle disposal process.

With JPJvBid, the department hopes to modernise its auction system and make it easier for the public to bid on seized vehicles without attending physical auction sessions.
