Retro-inspired Desmosedici GP26 celebrates Ducati’s 100th anniversary as Marquez and Bagnaia lead the title defence in 2026.

The Ducati Lenovo Team has officially revealed its striking 2026 MotoGP livery, with the covers coming off the new Desmosedici GP26 during the fourth consecutive Campioni in Pista presentation in Madonna di Campiglio. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Dolomites, the launch marks a special moment as Ducati celebrates the 100th anniversary of its founding in 1926.

To commemorate the centenary year, Ducati has introduced a retro-inspired colour scheme featuring white stripes paired with a darker shade of red. The design pays homage to Ducati’s historic racing and road-going machines, while retaining the aggressive identity that has defined its modern MotoGP era.

White is not new to Ducati’s Grand Prix history, having previously appeared as a base colour before the brand switched to an all-red livery from the 2019 season onwards. The 2026 design blends heritage and modernity, symbolising Ducati’s past achievements and its ongoing ambition at the top of motorcycle racing.

The centenary livery will be raced by an all-star rider pairing: Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia, who together boast 12 world titles, including nine in MotoGP. Ducati heads into 2026 as the benchmark team after a dominant 2025 season that yielded 17 Grand Prix wins and 19 sprint victories across 22 race weekends.

Marquez returns to action after missing the final four rounds of the 2024 season due to a shoulder injury sustained in Indonesia, shortly after clinching his seventh premier-class title. The Spaniard underwent surgery in October and dedicated the off-season to recovery, now aiming to continue his pursuit of MotoGP history in Ducati red.

Bagnaia, meanwhile, is determined to rebound from a challenging end to his 2025 campaign, where inconsistent results and several Q1 exits disrupted his title defence. Despite reported tensions with management during that period, both rider and team have insisted their relationship remains strong heading into the new season.

Adding further intrigue, both Marquez and Bagnaia are out of contract at the end of 2026, increasing the stakes as the season unfolds. With an engine freeze in place and major technical regulation changes coming in 2027, teams are expected to limit development early, making rider performance even more decisive.

The Ducati Lenovo Team is the fourth MotoGP outfit to unveil its 2026 colours, following Pramac, VR46, and Aprilia, while Monster Yamaha is set to reveal its factory livery next in Jakarta. As Ducati celebrates a century of racing heritage, the message is clear: with Marquez chasing history and Bagnaia seeking redemption, the Bologna brand intends to remain the team to beat in MotoGP.
