Ducati has concluded its participation in the 49th edition of Arte Fiera in Bologna. The international art fair took place from February 6 to 8, 2026. During the event, Ducati presented the third Officina Arte Ducati Award, confirming its ongoing commitment to contemporary art. The award highlights the strong connection between Ducati and the cultural world. It also reflects the company’s deep roots in Emilia-Romagna, a region known for design, creativity, and innovation.

A centenary theme inspired by time and speed

The 2026 edition of the award carries special meaning. It forms part of Ducati’s Centenary celebrations, marking 100 years since the company’s foundation. This year’s theme, “A Century Made of Seconds,” reflects Ducati’s racing DNA. It focuses on moments that define success on the track. In racing, fractions of a second often separate victory from defeat. At the same time, the theme celebrates the value of every moment. These moments can leave a lasting memory. This idea also mirrors the process of artistic creation.

Diego Perrone receives the Officina Arte Ducati Award

The 2026 Officina Arte Ducati Award was presented to Italian artist Diego Perrone. Perrone is represented by Galleria Umberto Di Marino in Naples. He was selected for a red ballpoint pen drawing that stood out for its energy and precision. The artwork conveys movement and rhythm. It also shows strong control and clarity. These qualities closely reflect Ducati’s core values. Speed, accuracy, and design research have shaped the brand’s identity since the early 1900s.

Jury recognition and Ducati’s design values

The winning artwork was selected by a panel of experts. The jury included Cristiana Perrella, Artistic Director of MACRO in Rome. It also included Luca Cerizza, an independent curator and art critic. Stefano Tarabusi, Design Manager at Ducati Motor Holding, also took part in the selection.

Speaking during the award ceremony, Tarabusi praised the winning piece.

“Diego Perrone’s work impressed us with its use of a simple tool such as the ballpoint pen. The gesture is controlled, precise, and dynamic. These elements strongly align with Ducati’s values.”

A lasting place in Ducati’s corporate collection

Perrone’s artwork will become part of Ducati’s corporate art collection in Borgo Panigale. The collection is supported by Fondazione Ducati. The work will join pieces by Alberto Tadiello and Marinella Senatore, winners of the 2024 and 2025 editions of the award. It will also sit alongside other artworks inspired by iconic Ducati motorcycles, including the Panigale.

Ducati’s ongoing dialogue with art

Ducati has always viewed design as more than function. The brand combines advanced technology with visual beauty. This balance creates emotion, performance, and identity. Through its collaboration with Arte Fiera, Ducati continues to build a bridge between motorcycling and contemporary art. The Officina Arte Ducati Award remains a key part of this journey.
