PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Gears Up for Estoril with SSP Riders Toba and Norrodin

Kaito Toba and replacement rider Ibrahim Norrodin ready to take on the Portuguese circuit for the penultimate round of the 2025 Supersport World Championship

The PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team heads to Circuito Estoril in Portugal this weekend for the penultimate round of the 2025 FIM Supersport World Championship (WorldSSP), with riders Kaito Toba and Ibrahim Norrodin eager to perform strongly.

Japanese rider Kaito Toba arrives at Estoril with positive experience from last season, when he finished fourteenth in Race 1. That result gives him extra motivation and confidence as he looks to end the year on a high with the Honda CBR600RR.

“We’ve reached the last two rounds of the season, and there’s a bit of a bittersweet feeling,” said Toba. “There are still things about our performance that I’d like to improve, so we’ll see what we can achieve this weekend. Estoril might suit the CBR600RR better than Aragón, so we’re ready to go all out.”

Joining him in Portugal is Malaysian rider Ibrahim Norrodin, who continues as a replacement for this round. Norrodin has already raced for PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda as a wildcard at Aragón and Magny-Cours, giving him valuable recent experience aboard the Supersport-spec CBR600RR. However, Estoril will be a new challenge for the young Malaysian.

“I’ve heard that the Estoril track is quite technical,” Norrodin shared. “This will be my first time there, so I’ve been studying onboard videos to learn as much as I can before arriving. It won’t be easy, but I’ll give my best and start learning from Thursday’s track walk. I hope we can have a constructive weekend — wish me luck!”
