Harley-Davidson and MotoGP have officially announced the creation of the Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup. It is the first global championship dedicated to high-performance bagger racing. The groundbreaking six-round series will debut in 2026, bringing American V-Twin power to some of the most iconic circuits across the United States and Europe.

Harley-Davidson and MotoGP announced the series at Austria’s Red Bull Ring, revealing its official name and 2026 calendar. The championship promises a unique spectacle, with Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycles transformed into powerful, track-ready racing machines.

A New Era of Racing

“The launch of the Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup signals a bold new era for Harley-Davidson and for the sport of motorcycle racing,” said Jochen Zeitz, Chairman, President and CEO of Harley-Davidson. “This series is about pushing limits – of our machines, our riders, and our brand – on a global stage. We’re proud to partner with MotoGP to bring this vision to life.”

The championship represents not just a new racing category, but also a cultural crossover that combines Harley-Davidson’s American touring heritage with the global prestige of MotoGP.

Carlos Ezpeleta, Chief Sporting Officer of MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports, highlighted the significance of the collaboration:

“We’re always looking for ways to innovate and expand – both at the track for our record crowds and to grow the reach of the sport even further. The Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup fulfills the brief. It will be a fantastic addition to race weekends while connecting our sport to one of the most iconic lifestyle and cultural brands in North America – and the world.”

2026 Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup Calendar

  • Grand Prix of The Americas – Circuit of the Americas (USA): March 27–29
  • Grand Prix of Italy – Mugello Circuit (Italy): May 29–31
  • Grand Prix of the Netherlands – TT Circuit Assen (Netherlands): June 26–28
  • Grand Prix of the United Kingdom – Silverstone Circuit (UK): August 7–9
  • Grand Prix of Aragon – MotorLand Aragón (Spain): August 28–30
  • Grand Prix of Austria – Red Bull Ring (Austria): September 18–20 (Championship Round)

The series opens in the U.S., moves through Europe, and culminates at Austria’s Red Bull Ring, where officials will crown the inaugural Bagger World Cup Champion.

Global Excitement Builds

The concept of a Harley-Davidson bagger racing championship was first teased earlier this year at the Grand Prix of France in Le Mans. Fan and media response was overwhelmingly positive, fueling anticipation for today’s official reveal.

As preparations begin, organisers are inviting teams, riders, and sponsors to join the series ahead of its 2026 debut. The championship promises to add a new dimension to MotoGP weekends. Fans can expect an entirely different style of racing while strengthening Harley-Davidson’s performance legacy on the international stage.
