Suzuki has officially unveiled two new additions to its growing 800cc platform globally: the 2025 Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT, joining the existing GSX-8S and GSX-8R. These new models mark Suzuki’s bold step into the retro naked sportsbike space, with clear nods to its heritage, especially in the case of the GSX-8TT, which evokes classic styling cues reminiscent of the legendary Suzuki T500 and, for Malaysian fans, even hints of the Suzuki TR-S or Wes Cooley GS1000S.

While the GSX-8TT may not be a direct tribute to any specific legacy model, its gold-painted wheels, retro-styled cowl fairing, stitched seat upholstery, and belly fairing bring a strong sense of throwback character. The GSX-8T, meanwhile, goes for a more minimalist approach with a single round LED headlight, black-painted wheels, and gold-anodised fork legs.

Underneath the classic-inspired design lies thoroughly modern engineering. Both bikes are powered by the same 776cc parallel-twin engine found in the GSX-8S, GSX-8R, and V-Strom 800. The DOHC, liquid-cooled twin delivers approximately 82 hp at 8,500 rpm and 78 Nm of torque at 6,800 rpm, though Suzuki has yet to release official figures for the new variants.

Riders will appreciate the tech-loaded cockpit, which includes a 5-inch TFT-LCD screen, multiple ride modes, three-level traction control (plus off mode), bi-directional quickshifter, low RPM assist, easy-start system, and a USB Type-C fast charging port.

In terms of hardware, both the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT are equipped with non-adjustable upside-down KYB forks, a preload-adjustable rear monoshock, and Nissin brakes with radial-mount front callipers and two-channel ABS. Tyres come in 120/70-17 front and 180/55-17 rear, keeping the sporty profile intact.

Weighing in at 203 kg, both bikes share a 16.5-litre fuel tank and an accessible 810 mm seat height, making them friendly for everyday use while offering enough punch and flair for spirited rides.

With the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT, Suzuki continues to expand its versatile 800cc lineup, offering something for riders who want both modern performance and nostalgic styling. Pricing and availability for global markets, including Malaysia, are expected to be announced soon.
