Motorcycle owners in Terengganu are receiving free engine oil changes and helmets as part of the People’s MADANI Programme (PMR) 2025, held at Pasar Kedai Payang from 10–13 July.

The initiative is a collaboration between the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and GiatMARA, offering complimentary oil changes for up to 200 motorcycles daily. JPJ supplies the engine oil, while trainees from GiatMARA centres in Marang, Hulu Terengganu, and Batu Rakit provide the technical servicing under supervision.

According to Bernama, a total of 12 GiatMARA trainees are participating on a rotation basis, gaining valuable hands-on experience. According to the Head of Operations and Logistics at PACU, the initiative not only benefits the public but also serves as real-world training for trainees, enabling them to improve their technical skills and customer engagement.

In addition to the oil change, JPJ is distributing 3,000 SIRIM-certified helmets (1,000 each day) to promote road safety. The helmet giveaway is accompanied by “Pocket Talk” sessions to educate the public on proper helmet use, quality standards, and traffic law compliance.

We can expect the PMR Terengganu 2025 programme to attract over 25,000 visitors throughout the three-day event. With the theme “MADANI Development, Prosperous People”, the programme is organised by the Prime Minister’s Office through PACU, in collaboration with the Ministry of Works and the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department.

This community-driven programme highlights the government’s continued commitment to improving public welfare through accessible services, vocational training, and road safety awareness.
