Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has officially unveiled the 2025 Yamaha XMax scooter at the Malaysia Auto Show 2025. Priced at RM24,888 without road tax, insurance, or registration fees, the new model comes in two striking colour options, grey and red.

The 2025 edition brings mostly appearance updates over the past version, the 2023 Yamaha XMax, with a sleeker look and improved aerodynamics. Notable changes include a lower and wider windscreen for better wind protection and fully integrated front turn signals within the front cowl.

Yamaha has revamped the instrument layout by replacing the previous multi-tier display with a new continuous panel. This new setup combines a TFT-LCD screen on the right and an LCD unit on the left, providing a more streamlined and user-friendly interface. Riders will also benefit from standard Bluetooth connectivity through Yamaha’s Y-Connect app, allowing access to a range of smart features.

Mechanically, the 2025 XMax retains the same proven powertrain, a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 249 cc engine delivering 22.5 hp at 7,000 rpm and 24.3 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. Enhancements in rider convenience include an electrically adjustable windscreen and a lightweight exhaust system, while safety gets a boost with the inclusion of an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) that activates the brake lights during hard braking.

Other premium features include keyless ignition, a USB-C charging port, a generous 13-litre fuel tank, and two-channel ABS with hydraulic disc brakes at both ends. These additions further solidify the XMax’s position as a versatile and feature-rich choice in the urban maxi-scooter segment.
