The MotoGP preseason testing dates for 2025 have been officially announced, with the action set to kick off at the Sepang International Circuit.

The preseason begins with the traditional Shakedown Test from January 31st to February 2nd. This session will feature factory test riders fine-tuning the bikes for the upcoming season, along with factory riders from concession category D teams—currently Yamaha and Honda—and the new rookies, Ai Ogura, Somkiat Chantra and Fermín Aldeguer.

Following a brief two-day break, the entire MotoGP grid will take to the Sepang circuit for the official IRTA test from February 5th to 7th. This three-day session will be crucial as teams and riders finalize their preparations for the new season.

A week later, MotoGP will reunite at the Buriram Circuit, the venue for the season opener on March 2nd. The Buriram test will be held on February 12th and 13th, giving teams one last opportunity to refine their setups before the season gets underway.

Meanwhile, the Moto2 and Moto3 classes will have their preseason tests starting in early February at the Valencia circuit. Moto3 testing will take place on February 7th and 8th, followed by Moto2 on February 9th and 10th. Both classes will then head to Jerez for a combined three-day test from February 18th to 20th.

FULL DATES (MotoGP)

  • Valencia Test: 19th November 2024
  • Shakedown Test: 31st January – 2nd February 2025
  • Sepang Test: 5th February – 7th February 2025
  • Buriram Test: 12th – 13th February 2025

  • Valencia Moto2 Test: 9th – 10th February 2025

This testing schedule will be vital for teams and riders as they prepare for what promises to be an exciting 2025 MotoGP season.
