Italian motorcycle racer Luca Salvadori has tragically passed away at the age of 32 following a fatal accident during the International Road Racing Championship in Frohburg, Germany.

Salvadori, who sustained multiple injuries in the crash on Saturday, succumbed to his wounds despite medical efforts.

Broncos Racing, the team he represented, confirmed the devastating news in a statement: “With infinite sorrow, we announce the loss of our Luca Salvadori. Following an accident on the Frohburg road circuit, the multiple injuries he suffered did not allow him to hang on, and he left us. We express our deepest sympathy and unite around his family.”

Salvadori, a passionate racer, had shifted his focus to road racing after competing in MotoE and the Italian Superbike Championship. He made his Supersport debut in 2013 and, in 2023 at the age of 31, had his first race in MotoGP.

Beyond the track, Salvadori had also gained a significant following on social media, with 415,000 Instagram followers and 583,000 YouTube subscribers, making him a beloved figure both in motorsport and online.

In a touching tribute to Salvadori, Team Pistard in the Italian National Trophy 1000 Championship made the remarkable decision to withdraw from the final two rounds of the 2024 season.

This gesture was intended to honour Salvadori by ensuring that he would be crowned the season’s overall champion. Salvadori had led the points standings prior to his passing, and Pistard’s withdrawal guarantees his first-place finish, marking a final, heartfelt recognition of his talent and legacy.

This act of sportsmanship demonstrates the deep bond between racers and teams, going beyond competition to show solidarity and respect. Pistard’s decision is not only a tribute to Salvadori’s career but also a reflection of the unity and camaraderie within the motorsport community.

Luca Salvadori will be remembered as a champion both on and off the track, leaving behind a legacy that will endure in the hearts of fans and fellow racers alike.
